To the Fox haters

Matt Foley

His problem is and has always been keeping the players focused and hungry when things look good. This is why he never has had 2 consecutive winning seasons. If he could figure that out, he would be a HoF coach.

Problem is, this team needs adversity to succeed. They play down to their competition and lose focus after successful seasons.

i know they respect the man.

i'm very much of the opinion that fox must go but one complaint that i have never levied against him is that he doesn't have the team. i've never said that fox was losing the team.

just remember that these are the same guys who also where die hard jake supporters. they are loyal to a fault.

i have no doubt that if fox were to get fired, they would be a bit upset. they'd get over it, though. they'd get in line behind the new guy because thats what they have to do. thats their job. one thing you would hear repeated over and over is "after all, it's just a business."

their loyalty is admirable. i just don't think it will help them in the long run. it's a culture thing and it's something that can come back and bite them in the butt.

i'm more or less resigned to the idea that he will be back next year. i can only hope that they move forward. move on from jake and find another top WR to help smith out. replace crossman and get some real special teams help.

His players didn't quit on him, But he did quit on his players.

When you play arguably the worst player in the League and say he gives you the best chance at winning? That statement says "Oh well gave em a good try right boys?"

This team is to talented to play so mediocre, yes Fox is the best thing this team has ever had, but in recent years that's been moot with his terrible decisions.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
