no. they havent . 2 games makes up for a season of sucking and bad game planning. if he was such a good coach, why did we play so bad in the first 13 games? every year he loses is some excuse.

if you guys want to give him credit for taking a team to the superbowl and 2 nfc championships then fine. but you also have give him "credit" for the 5 losing seasons and no back to back winning seasons, the up and down level of this team. a team that gets beat by buffalo but destroys the vikings and the giants.

It's bouncing back and forth some, but I'm pretty sure folks will settle on the IR excuse for him this year.

How could he possibly get us to the playoffs with so many people on IR?? Despite that, look at how much HEART they have in December!

..something like that.

I didn't see her say "playing hard", even though that can be argued as well. She said, "Playing to Win" and it was 100% on the money.

Foxball = playing not to lose

Foxball = a punt is not necessarily a bad thing

Foxball = a starter does not lose their job due to injury

Foxball = the goal is to win 3 games out of 4

Every play goes through Foxy...he vetoes what he does not like.

He must have one hell of a memory then, because I have never seen him consult a play sheet. I'm sure he is heavily involed in game planning during the week, but I have seen no evidence whatsoever that he is involved in the play calling on game day, other than deciding to go for it on 4th downs or telling them to run the ball when they have a lead, which every fan is very happy about when it works.

Well....it is the losses before most were on IR (except Kemo.....and who's fault that there was no depth at that position?)...that will keep the Panthers out of the playoffs.

i dont see how this is a good situation at all. even if we wanted to keep fox i would just go ahead and extend him now. no coach wants to operate under a 1 year trial basis. how is that good for continuity.

what happens if things go south?

will the player rebel knowing the coach wont be here next year?

what happens if he is one and done in the playoffs? do you extend him then?

what if he wants to leave? (Based on the posts of some , we would instantly become the oakland raiders and fox would be become belichek, tom landri, bill cowher all rolled into one and win 25 superbowls elsewhere.)

what if he sucks and then he leaves and we have to rework the staff ANYWAY with inferior coaching options? \

The retort will end up being that losing Kemo was too much to overcome early in the season.

Fox Ball = Run the ball to set up the play-action pass.

Fox Ball = Stop the run, pressure without blitzing, create turnovers.

I like these things.

I as well. What I don't like is Jake over Moore (cost us the playoffs most likely), Foster over Dwil, Brayton over Johnson. Its his poor decision making when it comes to crucial depth chart changes that I want rid of.

I'm more against passing up on Cowher than I am against letting Fox finish his contract out. This will be one frustrating offseason if this happens, especially if the Bucs pick him up.

edit: I didn't know Cowher's philosophy was take the team down with your struggling QB, voiding any chance of playoffs..

    • I really appreciate Bill explaining his methodology here because that gives interested parties a chance to try and recreate the results themselves. I believe that it's safe to assume that despite emphasis being placed on WRs that Chuba Hubbard is one of the Panthers' top-5 weapons. Considering targets, yardage, receptions, etc... Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette are also on the list. Jalen Coker's success might have snuck him in there as well. I can't draw a conclusion on who #5 is though. I've narrowed it down to Diontae Johnson, David Moore, Ja'Tavion Sanders, and possibly Rico Dowdle if they're taking into account his production for the Cowboys in 2024.
    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
