Anyone hear Brenneman at the end of the game?

billick was HC for 9 years with the ravens and is only a year older than fox. OC with the vikings for years before hooking up with the ravens as HC.

80-64 overall record.

5 winning seasons

only 3 losing seasons.

back to back winning seasons twice.

two seasons under 7-9.

4 trips to the playoffs.

1 ring.

I have always liked Billick. Oddly enough, during his coaching tenure at Baltimore, his team was known for its amazing defense. Before landing that job, he was considered an offensive guru when he was with the Vikings as OC.

Yep, true stuff. Gruden was similar to Billick in that he was an offensive "guru" coaching a team that was known for their great defense year in and year out, but not really their offense. Both of those offensive coaches never produced a juggernaut offense for their respective teams during their tenure. I guess you have to chalk up most of the credit to Kiffin and Ryan.

I feel bad for Billick just because he has to deal with Brenneman. That guy is a straight up tard. Idk who all watched the Florida/Cincinnati game, but at one point Billick was explaining why teams have concerns about The Golden Calf of Bristol's QB abilities...I laughed so hard at this that I remember it almost verbatim:

Billick, "You can see on almost every throw he makes, that his throwing motion dips all the way down to his thigh, which will probably have to be completely reworked in the NFL."

Brennamen, "...why?"

Billick, "Well, think about it like this. Dan Marino was a hall-of-fame quarterback because he had one of the most efficient throwing motions of all time. He could get the ball out of his hands in an instant."

Brennamen, "So let me get this straight...you're comparing The Golden Calf of Bristol to a Hall-Of-Fame Quarterback! That is high praise."

Billick, "...."

Isn't it funny that former coaches and players come in and broadcast better than some of the guys who focus their career on that? Ofcourse, that can also be vice versa *cough* Rodney Harrison *cough*

When he was talking to Billick about how great it had been for them to work together this year. And then he said "I wish you the best whether you go back into coaching or come back into the booth." And then there was kind of a pause and Brenneman said "sorry" then Billick said "no problem."

Am I reading too much into this? Made it sound like Brenneman and Billick knew that Billick was going back to the sideliens and that Brenneman let the cat out of the bag. I wonder if Billick has had talks with the Panthers at all.

I don't really remember the "sorry" part, or at least, not that short of an apology (might've had some more words in it - don't know).

But, what I did notice was that he said something about being back after that. Was he just covering that up? Who knows. I forget his words exactly, but he actually sounded a little convincing with whatever he said. He genuinely made it sound like he was going to be back in the booth (and like he wasn't going to enjoy it lol).

    • I'm salty every time I see someones mid picks become stars while we throw first and second rounders over and over and they all stink outside of Tet (who still has a lot to prove, imo)
    • There is a contingent that is total Bryce but they weathervane with the wind. When the good Bryce wind blows about once or twice a month we hear a lot from them. But they are always pro Bryce, they just don’t pipe up too much when he sucks. I can’t speak for them, as far as what they are looking at.    In a second contingent, the collective mind is made up. He has had had basically three years worth of starts that might include a top tier outing or two, a few second tier outings, offset by about the same number of bottom tier outings which actually may have the edge there.  The rest of his stuff is third tier and that is going to be the bulk of his starts. We want to move on. And we aren’t getting off of that hill until he puts us off of it. He has not.    There is a third contingent that has no conviction and definitely weather vanes. Bryce is good. Bryce isn’t good. Depending on the latest game. They will buy into 7 on 7 success so that should tell you something.
    • Nacua is really fuging good. He might be a better version of Cooper Kupp.
