Ranking Middle Linebacker: Jon Beason

I made a similar thread about Cornerbacks and Chris Gamble earlier, now I ask you, who belongs in top 10 MIDDLE linebacker and where does Jon Beason stand?

My top 10 is

1. Patrick Willis (I don't have to say much about this one just outstanding every year, too bad its 49ers only defensive player worth talking about)

2. Ray Lewis (he's the Heart and Soul of the Baltimore Raven's defense and franchise, 15 years in NFL and still putting up great numbers)

3. Jon Beason (the leader of this defense, also love how he plays the game)

4. David Harris (This guy has recovered from a sophomore slump to post an all-pro caliber year.)

5. London Fletcher (probably one of the most underrated player at this position but he is getting bit old)

6. DeMeco Ryans (Brian Cushing took the spotlight at the linebacker position, but DeMeco Ryans still puts up decent number)

7. D.J Williams (Not bad this year under new defensive scheme, lets see how he does next year.)

8. Barrett Rudd (Another VERY underrated linebacker that puts up great tackle numbers and solid in coverage)

9. Nick Barnett (ANOTHER UNDERRATED player)

10. Karlos Dansby

Honorable Mention

E.J Henderson - great against the run but too one dimensional

Brian Urlacher - not the same anymore with his injury

Curtis Lofton - meh.. plays in mediocre defense

James Laurinaitis - decent year, but plays for poo team

Kirk Morrison

Gary Bracket

Johnathan Vilma - beason should've gotten his spot at the probowl

He never got a chance to break out this year due to a torn ACL in preseason but remember the name Stewart Bradley. He is/will be the leader of the Eagles defense and should be a pro bowler for years to come.

Hard to argue against Beason being top 3 or even top 2 as suggested...... couldn't ask for much more.

i doubt he'll actually be a pro bowler, but he has shown potential. just too many better players for him to be a pro bowler

Here and Now Beason is number one.

Willis is the physical freak, Beason has the intangibles things you just can't teach.

Ray is the past, he's still top 5 but to rank him over current Beason is odd to say nonetheless.

IMHO it's more of a 1a) Beason 1b) Willis

Both are the face of this generations rising LB's Willis on his own is redefining the position because of his physical tools.

Again the 2007 Draft was F U C K I N G Loaded.
