Yep Dallas will have home advantage against the Canes if they meet up.

Also tomorrow if the Canucks beat the jets in regulation or OT (excluding shootout) they would also have home advantage over the Canes due to same points but more regulation wins (RW) or regulation overtime wins (ROW).

Canes play well away so I don’t see this as a big factor.

I thought Vancouver was legit out of the mix, crazy they are still in it, goes to show what losing game 82 means.

Also fify, “canes play well away against not west coast teams”

I honestly think Rod didn’t think we’d lose 82 because our goalie let in 6 goals…

I’m with you on that I doubt Rod thought it was a throwaway game.  Letting two more teams potentially dropping Canes to 4th place in the league is giving up too much on home advantage imho. I will admit I was fooled as well and thought Martin would do ok.

Ill be a jets fan just for tonight lol

Shows you how much the defense we play in front of the goalie matters.....

Still not a fan of Rod conceding the two seed....

A lot of people didn't realize that a lot of defense sat out. Need to remember he was 4-0-1 with a whole team in front of him.

FLA 6 -1 over Boston late in the third, game has become one big scrum with half of each team sent to the locker with 10 minute penalties lol

Question is if the canes do this, refs send canes to the locker room and leave the rags on the ice

    • Has the league just decided they don't care about calling this a penalty anymore? It's crazy how many times every week players are moving towards the LOS while in motion when the ball is snapped, sometimes it's pretty egregious too.  This really shouldn't even be a hard one to call, it's so obvious when a player is running in motion while drifting towards the LOS, and sometimes it's not even a drift as much as clearly running on an angle towards the LOS and not parallel to it.
    • I beg to differ. I would take our young core of offensive players over the 49ers. Panthers: Receivers Tmac, Legette, Coker, Horn Jr. 49ers: Receivers  Pearsall, Jennings, Borne, Robinson The 49ers have the edge at Qb due to experience, but if Young ever puts it together he may have more upside. Mccaffrey and Dowdle are a push this season, Mccaffrey is still great out of the backfield catching the ball, but he's been inefficient running this season, the 49ers are dead last in the NFL in rushing yards a game and near the bottom in yards per attempt.  Their defense without Warner and Bosa, it's not even close to actual playmakers, they don't have a Derek Brown on the D-line or a JC Horn, Trevon Moehrig in the secondary.
    • Same. And Slavin. I really miss Slavin, and this game shows the team does as well.
