What will PSL owners do if 2011 is a lockout?

Frank and Buc are talking about this now on WFNZ. God forbid, If there is no season in 2011, what will PSL owners be forced to do? Is there anything in your contracts that speak about issues like this? Will you be forced to buy tickets like they do for the playoffs and then use that money towards the next season?

I'd imagine if there were to be no games at all (as in no replacement players), and they knew this ahead of time, PSL owners would never be charged for the year. If the lockout came after they paid, they'd be credited.

I'll be beyond pissed if there is no season in 2011. Panthers games are one of my highlights of the year.

They will not lock out until the last possible hour, so tickets will likely have been purchased by that time. A refund seems appropriate if a lockout happens but is it realistic? You don't get a refund if we don't make the playoffs. They just deduct it from next years bill. Should be interesting to see what happens. I sure as hell hope we don't have to find out though.

Yeah, I hope they get another contract signed soon. I don't think anyone would benefit from the loss of a football season. This is really a pivotal point for Goodell's leadership. Make or break type stuff.

And after doing some research on the current regime running the Player's Association, a lockout sounds very possible (the head of the organization is a lawyer with activist ties... not a former player... so I'd bet he's just running numbers to be greedy... not looking out for the best interests of the sport.)

Wouldn't it suck if the NFL suffered some sort of collapse from this?

Yeah but the playoff bill comes in December and the next season's bill is due in April. That's only a couple of months. They can't hold people's money for over a year like that.

There must be some legal action to take if this ends up being the case.

The Prob will give you a credit on the next year. I think thats how they do with playoff tickets.

There's a big price difference in playoff tickets and season tickets. My two season tickets are $1800 currently. Last year, the playoff tickets were around $500 for the two seats for two games. Huge difference to hold hostage.

I'd be interested to hear if they contact you if a lock out seems unavoidable. I am saving up to buy PSLs for the family and it would be nice to see the precedent they set in this situation.

You get a refund on playoff tixs. You don't have to apply it to the following year. I called the year we paid and had no games....and asked for a refund and they refunded my credit card. They can't hold your money if you ask for a refund. They'll tell you it may take 4-6 weeks but you'll get it...they'll get every bit of interest they can. I told the lady that was unacceptable and that if I have to meet deadlines set by them, I shouldn't have to wait 4-6 weeks for money that didn't need to be spent. The refund was issued that week.

First, I do not see a lock out or strike happening. There is still to much time and both sides are not dumb enough to kill all the momentum the league has and piss off their fan base.

That being said, the teams will do as always and bill us for tix. If there are no games they would probably just credit that towards the next season. If their are scab games they better give me a discount!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

You are wholly confusing comparing situations and applying actual standards like most other franchises do like simply getting into a playoff series and winning at least 1 or 2 series games with praising. Nobody is praising the Hawks. Nobody is praising the Magic. Nobody here likes those teams. But reality is reality. The Hawks like other franchises have traded players fired coaches etc but they can still win a couple playoff games. How is that not the bare floor for you or anyone else? What are we doing here if it isn't? We've seen eye to eye on many things over the years. But you are in the camp on the Hornets where you are emotionally attached to LaMelo where you feel the need to carry his water like he's got that juice. That's cool that you feel that way. It's your prerogative. But I differ from that viewpoint entirely. If he had that juice we would not have gotten wiped off the court in 2 play in games with 2 different coaching staffs and rosters. if people don't like hearing that well I'm sorry but how the hell is this team ever going to get better and ultimately go anywhere in the postseason if we just blindly pat them on the back for getting their asses whooped before they actually even get into the real playoffs? There seem to be some Bryce Young level standards being applied here. That's wild to me. But to each his own.

      Proctor/Freeling were always the belles of the ball where we were picking. What those two *could* become at OT was far greater than what others could be at their respective positions and I’m glad our FO could see that.
