better career when its all said and done vick or delhomme.

Delhomme has clearly been better than Vick up until this point. When its all said and done, Vick might have the better career, but who knows. I really think Vick sitting behind McNabb will help him evolve into a better QB. Like someone above said, he seemed to be getting better right before he got into his little trouble. Hopefully, he gets a starting job somewhere next year or sometime soon. I want to see him succeed(just not against the Panthers anymore).

Michael Vick never threw 5 picks in a playoff game before. And he never had a season QUARTERBACKING as bad as the one Jake just had. I think Vick still has alot of football left in him and I also think playing behind McNabb this past season is gonna help him alot more than people recognize.

Vick is a joke of a quarterback. As Scot and other have said, he runs because he doesn't know what to do with the ball, can't go through any progressions, and doesn't really understand complex offenses or defenses. He had to rely on his running speed and elusiveness in order to get things done. That worked well when he was 24 but he will be 30 in June. Most running backs are done after the age of 30. Vick is essentially a running back who throws now and then. He is already slower than before and will only get slower. He will have a few more years in a gimmick situation like the wildcat or as a backup but he done as a starter. He had less than 200 yards of offense this year.

Older quarterbacks have to make up for decreasing athletic ability with knowledge, experience and game management. Unfortunately those are the areas Vick lacks so he will fade away much like Cordell Stewart did and Daunte Culpepper will.

wtf are u talking about...vick took prob fewer than 60 snaps all season. most out of the wildcat. this seasons been a wash besides learning from mcnabb..he wasnt on the field enuff to see how much he has or doesnt have. have u seen.. dontae is a pocket passer... stewart arm is nowhere in the same league as dontae or vick, i think all the people u compared have in common is their black.

Jake has had one year with a passer rating below 80. Discounting this year when Vick only attempted 13 passes and completed 6 of them. Vick has only had one year in his career when he had a higher passer rating of 80. Vick has had 2 years with passer rating in the 60s, 4 years with passer ratings in the 70s and one in the very low 80s.

His career passer rating is only 76 a full 10 points behind Jake's. It is funny that people have to look at Jake's worse moments in order to be able to compare him to Vick and for Vick to comes out on the positive side.

Vick has nothing left and is an oddity and joke at this point running the wildcat. The problem with learning anything is he is stupid and can't pick up things even when shown a dozen times.

You people who make excuses for him are pitiful. It isn't like he was good and has lost it like Jake. He was never good and won't get better. There is nothing to suggest he was getting better with age or experience.

Vick is alot smarter than Delhomme in the pocket. No one ever taught Delhomme how to check down and how not to throw into double coverage. 4 INT games, 5 INT games, Jake never progressed or learned how not to make the same mistakes over and over. Jake had the potential to be more than a glorified backup, but he never was taught proper mechanics and he is now suffering for it. In 2010, Jake Delhomme represents "bad quarterbacking", Michael Vick represents "redemption" and has more excitement in his left pinky than Jake ever had. This is the only franchise that Jake Delhomme could've thrived in. We know why.

Try writing in full sentences and using punctuation so people can at least try and understand your gibberish. I am sure you were trying to say something meaningful but who knows. Plus math is your friend. Vick attempted 13 passes and had 24 passing attempts for a total of 37 snaps.

Here is a quiz for you? Who threw for 3000 yards twice in his career? Stewart or Vick? Who has a higher competion percentage? Hint: it wasn't Vick.

As for Culpepper, he became a primary pocket passer later in his career when injuries and age slowed him down. His best year was in 2004 where he threw for 4700 yards and ran for another 400. In fact his best running year he ran for 609 yards in 2002 which was almost 6 yards a carry. He could throw the ball but was also mobile as well.

Come back and play after you learn some football and take some grammar lessons so you can play with adults.

    • I will as soon as you withdraw your fandom from the Patriots. Informative threads are great but all of these estrogen and emotion driven threads you start are ridiculous.
    • Will be there tonight and expect nothing from the Canes. They are soft and won't go after anyone, nor will they respond when, not if, Florida starts bullying them. Not to mention Freddie is in net. I fear this will be an ass-kicking.
    • Is this not a bit contradictory?  Also surely if any of us are smart enough to evaluate what we're seeing in real time, a former NFL QB can at least manage the same.  Especially considering he's basing his analysis on hours (maybe generous?) of reviewing All-22 footage which he can play back over and over again, focusing each time on different position groups, match-ups, progressions, etc. which is simply impossible for a fan to fully assess in real time.  Unless you're actually at the game, we basically only get the QB/O-line in frame during the broadcast and even in that limited window of the field, there is simply too much happening.  I'm usually broadly focusing on Bryce, maybe peeping the footwork (or lack thereof) and just the overall pocket and whether there is any pressure coming.  I'm not able to watch every individual one-on-one o-line match-up on top of it to see who got beat, who didn't pick up a blitz, which o-lineman didn't shift to help double-team, or whatever else. I think the truth is somewhere in between (as is almost always the case).  Knowing the play call, audible, etc. is pretty important when judging individual performances, which is why we should always take PFF grades with a grain of salt.  But yeah we can also get a pretty good overall sense of how a player is performing just from watching the game on the couch on Sundays.  I still think there's a lot of value in a review video like this.  As long as you have the bare minimum media literacy to take the interesting insights while also acknowledging inherent biases from a video like this (i.e. obviously focusing on the good over the bad).
