Madden 2011

lol I don't even do regular online mode anymore. I play ultimate team, and picked up a legendary Jake Delhomme card when he was actually good. I've got him, legendary moose, legendary steve smith, our whole o-line, pretty much everyone on the team :D

I LOVE to sim franchise. I like to play the draft. ;)

favre was last season. Troy and Larry on this years. Troy felt the curse. Larry didn't. Apparently madden can only take out one man.

Yeah, I know. I got the last couple on the shelf.

I like Larry, but he's got it comin'. Madden will strike sooner or later... :P

Thank God they made Matt Moore a stud now thought. Yea, he sucks on the medium passes, but he actually makes the receivers not look retarded when I use him. I have to put Goodson at WR3 thought, it works wonders.

He's got "B" potential and was a lovely franchise QB for me for a few years until I traded him for a 1st or 2nd rounder (in franchise).

Goodson is a great WR, too, although I played the draft well and have a couple of 90's WR now (why can't the real Panthers do that? :o)

I love simming through the franchise mode. My dad used to ask me when I was younger why I didn't really play all of the games. I just love the draft and the offseason and being in control of the team. Building for the future. In Madden 08 I won 8 consecutive Super Bowls. 4 of them with Moose as my head coach. It was effin' awesome.

This is such a geeky thread but I actually have Derrick Mason as my coach ATM.

Recipe for creating a 100 rating head coach: take him on a winning season and win the SB.

I swear the Patriots and Steelers always make it to the superbowl (this is after all their current stars are retired). I will say that it sucks when all the real players are too old to play and all that is left are the computer-generated ones. :o

at least on the back where the new features of the game are lol

Brand New Feature: Play as Delhomme in the Mini-Game "Interceptathon"!

The coverage mini-game sucks now. You can barely catch passes because of the defenders always doing something gay.

There should be a Madden moment where you come out in the 4th Quarter of the Arizona playoff game and have to come back as Jake Delhomme on player lock. But every time you throw the ball its a turnover.

That would be cruel and unusual punishment. Actually it sounds like hell... Having to replay it over and over and over for all eternity.

Delhomme is FAR from the worst QB in the league. Overall throughout his career he wasn't a half bad player. He just hasn't been up to par the past couple seasons. I think it's time for him to go too but I don't think Matt Moore is the answer. Also, no way in hell that Delhomme ever makes the cover of Madden.

    • I’m keeping an eye on what the Hawks do with Boye Mafe. There’s a few young talented players that needs to be retained and one of their defensive starters might not fit within the budget. My guess is probably Riq Woolen is voted off the island but Mafe could be potentially too. His stats aren’t eye popping, but in McDonald’s defense, his role is to leverage for the DL to clean up. Mafe’s QB pressure rate is top notch and in a different scheme, he could clean up.    Just something to watch this weekend when SEA is in town.
    • Ok fair to judge only his starts.  But you do acknowledge that going from "he's waaaay above league average in a number of categories" to "here's a single stat where he's above league average (not "waaaay") and another where he is exactly at the league average" is a pretty significant backpedal, no?  I'm guessing he's probably in the ~10th range for completion percentage too if we're only looking at starts (I'm too lazy to isolate his starts and do the calculations), so I'll grant you that one too.  But I don't think completion percentage is all that meaningful as a standalone stat if it isn't bolstered by good TD%, Y/A, etc. On that note, for how much people like posting Passing Charts in here (*cough* CRA) - if you peep Shough's passing charts, he hasn't completed a single 20+ yard pass in the past 3 games combined.  His last one was in Week 13 against the Dolphins, which was a single pass of 24 yards.  I just want to be consistent in how we apply our standards - I think it's always been warranted to criticize Bryce for it (even dating back to his rookie season), but do we suddenly not care about that with Shough? And yeah I did acknowledge that Saints' fans have reason to be excited about him and complimented his poise, which is giving my props.  Still not sure I agree that he looks better than a "ton" of QBs nor do I think you or anyone have really demonstrated that.  I think you are generally one of the more reasonable level-headed posters which is why I'm confused at what I consider to be rather hyperbolic language about Shough.
    • I don't disagree with you, but want to point out that Tremble's strong suit has always been blocking. Case and point: on Horn's 25 yard run, he lays down not 1 but 2 nice blocks...and is looking for #3! https://www.panthers.com/video/jimmy-horn-jr-s-25-yard-run-gives-panthers-red-zone-access-on-first-drive
