i seriously hate the OT system in pro football. it is ridiculously unfair.

don't give me the shitty argument about how the team should have won in the regulation, that's not how it works. you don't say that about baseball or basketball or college football, so what makes the pro football so special? both teams deserve a shot at a win in OT, not just the first to score.

Agreed use the college system or something close to it maybe start a little further then the 25 its that simple.

the two things that need to be changed in pro football are the OT rules and the PI calls. As far as PI goes, I think they should get rid of the spot file and just make it a 15 yard penalty no matter what. Those 50-60 yard penalty calls can drastically impact a game. As far as OT goes, I was talking to my cousin and were saying the best way is to just play half a quarter, so 7:30, and whichever team has the lead after 7:30 is the winner. So basically similar to basketball. What do you guys think?

This would be the best scenario but what would happen if its still tied. Would you play another 15 mins or would you go to sudden death then?

If it's a regular season game, it'll end in a tie after 15 min. If it's a playoff game, you play the one OT quarter for sure, but if it has to go into double OT, then it should be the first team to score.

I say keep going!

Even in the regular season. Screw ties.

If the players don't want to play that long and risk injury, they can step up and end it. (Or just allow more people on the roster.)

i like the idea of a half quarter, that seems pretty fair. a full extra quarter might kill people.play it till the end, then in double OT the first to score wins.

get rid of ties. ties suck. I'd rather lose then tie. ties are like the consolation trophy that every kid gets in their soccer league for just participating. "everyone's a winner." no, person who says that, everyone is not a winner.

    • I'm really not stressing about upgrading from Bryce. I'm frustrated with our inability (or refusal) to recognize overall bad QB performance and failure to seriously address the issue. QB is the most impactful position on the field, and we're not only settling for what we've been given to this point, but we've rewarded it with a fully guaranteed 5th year extension for a player that's never played 2 NFL franchise QB quality games back to back in 3 seasons. I can't understand how that's ok from a coach's or GM's viewpoint. Successful franchises don't do things like this. It just doesn't make sense.  We do not have a top half of the league QB right now. Since we don't have that player, we should be looking for him. Pickett isn't it. Grier isn't it. Bryce hasn't proven he is yet. Until you have that sure fire franchise QB, you keep looking. You're not consistently making the playoffs, a deep run, or a SB appearance without one.  What's the worst that could happen? We end up with 2 potential number 1 QBs? How horrible.
    • Easy to understand Pickett, if this is anywhere close to on point. Canales wants to get as close to Bryce as he can- get the pace and timing in the throws as close a he can to Bryce. So the other players don’t have to adjust so much, to a new guy.       If Cam was the 1, he would look for a rocket arm.  But Bryce is the 1. Look for limited in the same way.  Low velocity, plenty of air under it, feels just like home when Picket comes in. And you have the guys on the second team not having such a radical adjustment (if they have to play) like with Dalton to Bryce.    Enter Grier. I guess we will collect those types.
    • Best part is if we draft him, we can also use him as our fourth and one QB sneaker
