I don't think A) is relevant this year.  He will be a HC next season.

And yes, he will have other options.  I only think one potential opening is significantly better than Carolina and that's the Chargers (and maybe Chicago because of draft capital).

This is still an NFL head coaching opportunity.   Plenty of talented coaches will be interested.

I hope so, but I'm not convinced.

Tepper is being ripped all over the place right now, rven by people who are on board with firing Reich.

My gut feeling tells me Ben Johnson to Carolina is nothing more than a pipe dream. I suspect he will be the top candidate for both the Chargers and Chicago that have a hell of a lot more upside and draft capital than we do right now. He either gets his pick of Herbert and that supporting cast of weapons, or the #1 overall pick and his choice of QB in Chicago. That sounds better to me than Bryce Young and an offense devoid of talent with David Tepper looming overhead.

    • To me, this seems like they feel they aren't going to be competitive. I can't help but go back to Bryce. Good guy, but he doesn't inspire people to give it their all. He isn't a "leader" that people look to. There is no Smith, Delhomme, Kuechly, Cam, etc. coming in that door.  It has to be Bryce, but biologically speaking, how often is the shortest man in the room going to command the kind of respect that will drive people? It just isn't. That isn't how we are wired. That isn't how any living animal on Earth today is wired.  I just follow the science guys.
    • Vick's issue with Reid was that he couldn't take a hit, and he wouldn't go down. Otherwise he was pretty good much of the time.  Mahomes has a system that works. Mahomes doesn't become Mahomes elsewhere because not everyone can extract 125% of the ability of a specific player like Reid can. Kevin O'Connell is beginning to look like he has that ability as well but I'll need to see how he does with his Redshirt Freshman.  I also wonder how much of their playoff issue last year was related to the offense as a whole and not just Darnold. Fans don't really dive into the "why" things happen, they just see the what and complain about it.
