What do/did these players have, that Peppers doesn't?

peppers is actually a lot smarter than you'd think, he just has a severe social anxiety problem.

it goes into how his personality doesn't compare to the people in the OP. It's not intelligence, it's just he doesn't have that same kind of insanity that makes Steve Smith so good.

Speaking of Steve, if we want to talk about stupid players...

That's what I'm talking about. A lot of the players I listed were very laid back off the field. But turn it on on the field. Just think if Peppers had that kind of intensity on the field.

Peppers just dose not have a drive to be the greatest. The Min game showed you that he can take over any game he want too. He just dose not care to do it on a regular basis. Really all the way back to his Tar Heel days he never cared about being the best.

You watch him at all this season? He was more animated this year than he's normally been.

Agree with you here. He actually made me excited about the next season, b/c I think he wants to be here.

Also, to the other posters that think he is not too smart...to get into UNC you have to be semi-smart, even as an athlete. If you actually listen to the interview or any other interview that he has, he just seems nervous, or as someone else noted...socially anxious.

He is a dominate player that noone else can compare to. I wouldn't go overboard with pay though.

Nope. I had a friend almost get denied from a full scholarship to Wake, b/c his grades/SAT weren't up to par. UNC is no different.

a kid i went to Catholic with got a full ride to Wake.

he failed freshman geometry every single year and only progressed because his dad helped build that ugly ass chapel.

for his senior prank he decided to take a poo on the floor.

don't tell me about academic standards for athletes outside of the ivy leagues.

trust me my uncle is a head coach and one of his players was a 4 star recruit, got recruited to unc and he only had a 2.3 gpa and like a 950 sat. aslong as u have a pulse and ur a great player they will find a way to get u

Well, at least I thought players were held to an intellectual standard...:conf:

Attitude!

Oh sure, JP will have the stats when it's all said and done. But he doesn't have an attitude on the field. He does have an attitude that the Panthers owe him something and that will be his down fall and why he will never really be considered one of the great Defensive players in the NFL.

Passion, intensity, and a true love for the game.

    • Exactly He's played two seasons and started 28 games. He's well beyond the point of being able to point to 2 or 3 games and being able to say, "THAT is the QB he is and will be in the future" Of course he can get there, but anyone trying to use just those couple of games to rank his place amongst the games QB's today and their full career's worth of playing at that level, is just asinine. Mahomes, Allen, Lamar, Burrow, Hurts, Herbert, Daniels, Stafford, Goff, Geno, Purdy, Baker, Love, Dak, Tua, Kyler, Lawrence That's 17 QB's right there that have played better over their careers than Bryce has played at his best.  And I'm not saying they're all studs or guys I'd want to be our QB moving forward, Tua for example I wouldn't touch with a 10 foot pole, but his body of work is a million times better than Bryce's has been. It's also not including any of the other QB's drafted in 2023/2024 other than Daniels. So again, say you believe in Bryce, say you think he's going to prove he can and should be our QB of the future, that's all fair and totally fine. But nobody can say he's been an above average QB in his career thus far, it's just an asinine notion.
    • I'd think we could get one of those from Dallas for... whatever.
