Thank you for the honest and analytical response.

The Falcons might make a run but being a Panthers fan, I know more about the Panthers than the Falcons and I think that this could be a good year for the Panthers. Maybe not a Super Bowl year, but Peppers is likely gone, the defense will have to change to accomodate but will have a better overall supporting cast. If Matt Moore turns out to be anything decent and a decent WR is picked up, it could be a good year.

I see Tampa Bay coming back and winning a few more than this past year. The Jets will be a contender. I have no clue who might take it all the way, though.

no doubt; you guys get a QB that you can depend on and watch out. I said it all of last year; you don't even need a stellar qb, just a Matt Ryan type dude who doesn't make mistakes, but yet is a threat to go deep. I don't think your D will miss a beat w/out Peppers. You couldn't depend on him anyways. You watch; Dallas will make a run at him.

Dallas will make a run at him. I agree with that. I also agree we won't miss him. I've not been big on him the entire season last year. He doesn't wanna be here, so let him walk.

I only want guys here that want to be here.

He won't do well anywhere else (maybe some flashes of his old self, just like here) and will end up retiring soon enough.

The Vikings are missing some things (possibly a QB) but they might be a contender. The Colts will do the usual "good in regular season" thing that they do (as in, I don't think they will win the SB, or even be in it). Patriots and Eagles will do decent, but might miss the playoffs and definitely not make it far. The Chargers will be solid even without LT, I think. Probably the most likely to do well in the AFC. The Redskins might be a surprise.

Overall, I think the NFC South is the strongest division right now.

I'm not totally sure about that. I would have to say the AFC North probably. With the Steelers, Ravens, Bengals and now the Browns have holmgren there.

I probably should've said "potential" not "strongest." I think they have the most potential. The AFC North is more established but I don't think anyone in the AFC North will be a serious threat come playoff time (really).

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
