Gamble...

The only reason I say this is because he was playing lights out before the ATL game that we lost. After that game he got beat by the likes of Dominik Hixon...I mean that just shouldn't happen to a top 5 corner in the league. He needs to be the leader in that secondary and lead by example..

If i recall correctly, he got beat when Eli escaped from pressure and slung it downfield. Had there been the easy sack, it wouldn't have been an issue. We've been banged up on the d-line too much as of late, for gamble, i think any drop off in production is because of the d-line. However, lucas has been picked on before all of this. Gamble goes as far as our pass rush. If anything needs to be improved it should be that.

Okay, our pass rush ranks 9th in the league. above teams like Chicago, Baltimore, Atlanta....so for the last time, our secondary's recent incompetence isn't related to our flippin pass rush

Stats never tell the full story. Watching the games tell the full story. Outside of Peppers and Johnson on the ends, there is no pressure.

Totally false, rofl shows how much you know. There are TONS of DB's in any facet of football with great hand skills.

Simply covering a receiver is only a part of what being a DB is.

Just like catching the ball is only a part of what being a receiver is.

You can have the best hands in the world, but if you can't get open or run good routes it really won't mean much.

But please continue being ignorant.

I stand by my point that a lot of NFL DB's become that after playing ball skill positions at lower levels of football. It is also possible to make your point with being an ass hole about it. Then again I guess you are what you are.

I believe we can all get along here...... it's just a plain fact that our defensive backfield is fairly good "at best". Gamble is the best corner we have, in fact I'd think he's above average for the league. Lucas will have issues every year..... one year he can't tackle and gets benched..... one year he can't cover..... Green Bay let him go fairly easily as a free agent. Marshall has those great plays but overall is less than stellar as well.

And let's don't forget, ALL defensive backs get beat!!! I'm the first one to bitch about Lucas but do realize we don't have better options.

Let's pray for a good pass rush.... get healthy tackles, we'll need a push up the middle.

Just my .02

First of all I believe we got Lucas from the Seahawks. Gamble has improved a great deal this year primarily in his tackling. He has become a complete corner and as a result hasn't been targeted as much as Lucas during the second half of the season. I think Fox summed it up best after the Saints game. We have played some pretty good offenses during this stretch.

On being concerned about the defense giving up leads in recent weeks: What I'd say is that we've played the No. 1 offense, the No. 2 offense, the No. 4 offense, the No. 6 offense. When you come down the stretch with five games to finish the season -- at Green Bay, which is no box of chocolates, Monday Night Football against the Tampa Bay Bucs, the No. 2 offense in the NFL in Denver and you've got to go to the New York Giants -- the defending world champions -- and then you've got to go on the road and win, which hasn't been done this season in our (division). You go 4-1, and I'm not concerned with much.
