Possible Receivers for us

It only took one 40 time for Mayock and the other NFL pundits to start comparing Jacoby Ford to Desean Jackson. He really might have shot himself up the board and into the conversation at the 4th receiver taken. OR teams (other than the Raiders) could be wary because he reminds them of Darius Heyward-Bey.

My WANTS list still has Bryant and Tate at the top as the two guys who are far and away the best receivers in the draft.

Benn ran a little slow but he is a bigger receiver. I wouldn't mind having him..even though I'd really like to have one of those guys that is running in the 4.3s. The 4.5 guys (a la Jarrett and Keary Colbert) haven't really worked out for us. We need to find another Steve Smithesque type receiver.

We could have one but we would have to trade into the 1st and get Tate. I'll go on record to say if he stays healthy he will be the next Steve Smith/Desean Jackson YAC type player.

Look for Andre Roberts name to pop up. Played at the Citadel but had an impressive Senior Bowl week. Plus he's a local kid; and went to a military school. So should have his attitude straight.

As A grad of The Citadel, nothing would thrill me more than for us to get Andre. Watched him do alot of great things for the last 4 years but he is also a great kid --- graduated from The Citadel in Dec (3 1/2 years) and held high leadership rank within the Corps of Cadets. although he is slightly built, he only missed 4 games to a high ankle sprain in his career --- i think he can definately make his mark as a returner (both KO and punts) and be a good slot receiver...did not see his numbers from the combine today, so don't know where his 40 time stacks up, etc.

Golden Tate probably will be gone by the time we get our first pick...I think Jacoby Ford could be the answer to two of our prayers! He was a stud kick returner at Clemson and would have put up bigger numbers, but he split time on returns with CJ Spiller. He could become a number two reciever...at worst a number three. Can you imagine having two Steve Smiths on the field at the same time?

I think Mardy Gilyard is the only guy we can draft in the 2nd and get our money's worth.

In the 3rd Taylor Price, Carlton Mitchell, and Demaryius Thomas are the only good value.

I would like to trade down and get two WR's. Sign Moose back with Jarrett as a wild card. Draft one WR that can return and one pure WR.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
