A Fast WR next year?

I know Im getting ahead of my self but thinking about how Tampa is gonna cover Smith in this game got me wondering.

We will have needs to address but a Good WR can more times then not be found in the 2nd round and it would be good move to get one that could fly. We have Moose,Jarrett, and Hackett as of now but none of them have the speed to get behind a CB and make them pay for rolling to Smith. I know it sounds crazy but it would improve our team.

No, I agree that in a couple years, we will need to start looking for another speed option. For now we need to focus on molding Jarrett.

Missed my point. Jarrett dose need to see some time but he is not fast by any means. A True Slot WR would be nice and a WR that can make WRs pay if he gets behind them.

I'll agree to your point, I just don't think we need to take one so early. First and second rounds should be aimed at defensive tackle and quarterback, respectively. Er, guess we don't have a first round pick, as of now. You get my point.

IMO we are good at QB for now and I doubt a good DT will be around in the 2nd. Thats what got me to this point of taking a WR if it works out. Still a good DT would be very nice.

    • After watching Dan for 3 yrs now, I think I understand his plan. It’s a simple plan that should work for the long run.     I saw some of this last yr. Dan wants a vet and a young player at each position. I really think we go OT if one they like there. Moton is aging, Icky will not be back until 27, if ever. We need to get ahead of the tackle problem
    • You are just stressing too much about these particular positions. You want to upgrade from Bryce and I understand that but you aren’t going to really get that without getting into a bidding war for a QB2 potential QB1 like Willis. You could possibly trade for Mills or the backup for Chicago but they are still gambles and their teams will won’t decent picks.  Again the Eagles thought KP was a capable enough backup to trade for him once their backup was hurt and won a Super Bowl with him as QB2. The point is most teams aren’t rolling with some stud QB2/3 that is going to push even a bottom tier starter. They are better off the building their roster in other areas. The Rams are rolling with Bennett right now as QB2 for example.  The goal is winning absolutely. We overachieved last year even with stumbling into the playoffs. Another year and this staff needs to take the next step in building a team. Will Grier has little to no impact on that….
    • Three straight first round WRs is straight up Matt Millen poo. Considering the draft capital we have tied up on Bryce after that trade we would basically have spent damn near all of our draft capital in recent years on QB and WR just to put one of the most anemic passing offenses in the league on the field. Clown show poo.
