Panthers Cut Delhomme

I think a lot of posters on here are being pretty classless.

I think releasing him is the best move for the organization at this point. You have to move on from players that were an important part of your organization. That is not debatable.

Yes, he struggled last year....and mightily. There is no denying that. But, he provided the Panther fans with A TON of great memories during his time here. He led us to alot of victories, 2 NFC Championship Games, and the Super Bowl.

Quite frankly, I blame Fox for last year's debacle more than I do Jake. Jake was out there trying to make plays. When he was stuggling, it was Fox's decision to continue to trot him out there. Jake was doing what he was asked to do....play his hardest. Did he succeed last year? Absolutely not. But, he never gave up on this team and lead our organization with class and fire.

I would have thought that Panther fans would have been a better class than this. I, for one, am grateful for his time here and will wish him well in whatever his future holds.

+1

Oh happy day!

Now I can talk Panther football with my non-panther fans, and not have them constantly throw "Delhommes suckage" in my face. Like someone said earlier, it should've been done 2 years earlier, but I wont get on the FO tonight.

I think its important for folks to remember who was the person who made this team a contender.

    • See that's the thing what I saw in game 2 was so embarrassing id rather they could just forfeit
    • Are you arguing that his height deficiencies and footwork within the pocket have not been a present issue clearly seen on his game tape particularly in the games he struggled in? Because that's simply denying what everyone in this fanbase who have watched the games have seen. It's interesting how hardline BY fans here quickly and effortlessly pivot from whailing about being victimized to becoming the aggressor and hurling out allegations of bias and hatred. And at the end of the day while Bryce Young clearly improved significantly from the first two games of the season the reality of the situation is he still finished 42nd in yards per pass attempt behind Mac Jones and tied with Caleb Williams and 38th in passing yards per game behind the likes of Gardner Minshew Aidan O'Connell Drake Maye and Will Levis. Furthermore it took Bryce Young 23 games to surpass Panthers legend Kyle Allen's 13 games worth of passing yardage in 2019. So if your argument is he became a head and shoulders better passer over the course of the second half of the season the reality is we're still waiting to see that growth this season. And there is nothing controversial or vitriolic about saying so from the mind of a rational observer.
    • Cam regularly threw for less than 200 yards and nobody questioned he was elite. He averaged 219 yds per game for his career.  You seem to be way too hung up on yards as a stat.  By that definition Jameis Winston should have been MVP by now.
