Steve Smith is as good as gone

ok, Carolina is getting young....and they are only gonna replace the spots through the draft. No quality FAs imo, just guys to patch a hole for a year.

Now, Jake is gone.

If Rhys is gone then I assume Kasay is coming....

That removes the 2 men that keep Smitty in check and that he legitimately liked on the team. Smitty will not want to be on a team getting young and looking to rebuild the next couple drafts

this imo will likely be Smitty's last season in Carolina....we better enjoy it. Only hope is for Moore to lead Carolina to the playoffs......but that would keep Fox here and this year isn't being planned out for success to be expected.

Are you kidding. After Moore came in last season Smitty looked like his old self again. Smitty gonna make Moore into a Pro Bowl. Watch and see.

Go Panthers

i don't like the sound of that

I don't either. I don't like the fact I think a Kasay cut is coming b/c Jake/Kasay were Smith's rock in Carolina. Kept him as reasonable as he could be.

I don't like the way top tier athletes act during the tail end of there career on teams looking to rebuild.

I don't want it to happen......but you gotta think it is a reasonable thought

I can see it if they get ALOT for him, however then they are leaving Moore out to die. Jake would've been out of NFL long ago if not for Smith.

No trade for Smith should be done unless it includes getting someone like Brandon Marshall and a first.

Yeah, with no defense the offense is going to have a much tougher year next season. The team by all accounts, is taking a step back this year in order to make a move the next few.......that happens and Moore/Smitty can't control that.

Just trying to have a discussion.....

so it is dumb to think about an aging Smith wanting off a team? A team that might not have either of his two friends remaining and a brand new coach after this season?

No defense? what are you talking about?

We lost one player that really mattered in Peppers but we have 2+ capable players ready to take the reigns. Damion Lewis might be a loss but he was just average..

    • He’s also 21 years old. I don’t know why fiz is so eager to label him a bust
    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
