Draft Needs

TerriblePizza

Recommended Posts

I just finished updating my spreadsheets...

According to me, with all the action of the past two days, our current areas of need are:

1. LB (both MLB and OLB)

2. DE

3. CB

4. WR

5. DT

6. S (more so on the SS side)

7. QB

8. G/T

9. K

10. C

11. FB

12. TE

13. RB

14. P

This is, of course, not taking any potential FA signings into account, and if and when those start coming in, this list will change heading into the draft...

yes, i never watch the panthers i just post on a message board... are you retarded?

dont argue with you b/c you know the team inside and out? is this a freakin joke? are you in jr high or what?

sharing your opinions is fine, i'm ok with someone disagreeing with me. but dont spout a bunch of nonsensical ramblings in half garbled gammar about watching the games and knowing the team.

say what you want I bet they draft a WR or make a trade

aint happening.

why not? Kasey has a year or 2 left in him and we need a kicker, LLoyd makes his kicks in practice and has a monster leg to keep the other teams starting at their 20, he is valuable to the team, if anything, Kasey should be out cuz we are at that time now where we are going for it on 4th from the 35cuz we dont trust his leg anymore then there is something wrong with that

I read some of it, but didnt want to keep scrolling, I like him and I think he helps us but if we gotta get a new kicker then we gotta get a new kicker lol, I just hope we get a good quality WR, weather it's with our second round pick or a FA we need some1 to help take the pressure off Smith so he can do what he does best, I honestly think Antonio Bryant could even be a good fit, I wanted nate burleson but thats too late and now there is also charles grant available as well so I hope we get a couple free agents like we do every year but dont go overboard but also draft according to what helps us win and not just the best player availabe

hmm i thought everyone was saying dt was set. glad hurney and co got rid of dead wieght at dt so we can draft tallent now. DT was and still is my #1 priority the entire offseason.

we need to make a move up in this draft to grab a good one like brian price. i would love to get 2 actually and still cut haydon.

after that WR! if we didnt have smith, this would be #1 by a mile. moose is no spring chicken (and is he not a FA too), jarrett - unproven, and zip after that. we need a major influx of tallent at this position, and have for several years.

next up LB: the scary thing is we could be out a lot of quality LBs before the draft if anderson goes somewhere else. that would leave us with 3, and only 3 LB worth a damn, and depth would be required. plus 1 would be coming of an injury (and isnt TD also a FA). i like dyrral washington alot and hope we can snag him in the 3rd. my sleeper is still kam chancellor as a backup in year 1, project SLB in a cover 2.

DE- if brayton walks, this is a need for depth asap. that would leave CJ and brown as starters (i can live with that), and hilee as the primary backup (ok for speed/rush end, but who backs up CJ). i would like to look at a Jeffrey Fitzgerald later as a steal. guy is so under rated, but just produces. a possible 3-4 end too....

DB- could use alot here depending on the godfrey and martin situation. if they switch them around i would drop this requirement alot. i am not sold on the godfrey experiment, and its sharrod martins or someone elses to win from him at this point. i would also like a younger ST gunner than wesley with modest upside.

QB- comp for cantwell. need a backupp (mccown), UDFA/Late rounder

we move up say bye bye to our 3rd/4th rounder. Only way we move up is trading next year's 1st which i think is very, very likely. We aren't going to get rid of any picks in this year's draft unless we REALLY like somebody. And next year's 1st alone won't get us into the 1st round.

LBer isn't a huge need people. With Beason, TD, Anderson and Connor we still have some of the best young LBer talent in the league. All we need is a couple decent depth players, which is fairly easy to fill.

DLine and WR are the only big needs we have. After that everything is just depth.

Davis is coming of an injury

Anderson and Connor are rotational guys and not cut out for starting full time

Beason, of course, is one of the best in the league...

At worst, we could draft an immediate starter on the outside opposite Davis (if he is healthy) in the 2nd round...

Think about if one of those 4 guys goes down... We are extremely thin there...

DL, we have 5 DTs, and 3 DEs... DE is the bigger need right now, but neither of these positions outweigh LB to me at this point...

WR, which was our biggest need, is now 4th on the list in my estimations... Nobody is even talking about CB depth, and it is quite possible we let Richard Marshall walk... That would leave us with Gamble, Munnerlyn, and a hybrid CB/FS in Sherrod Martin... That's it!
