Add in free agency too. The best player on each side were UDFAs that each of their former teams didnt care to resign. If you view eddy > johnny , then add STs as well.

Panthers kept on re-signing there own bad players form 5 win teams.

I think feel they need a new strength staff as well. The last few years the team plays soft and weak. Then theres been more injuries as well.

Team is de-void of talent and no depth for the below average starters. Roster truly needs around 40 players and thats if young somehow turns out ok.

Just the timeline of mass exodus of leadership and talent form the rivera era into the poor player player development era of rhule(which is a big reason he was hired), then limp dick frank reich not wanting to fix this mess he signed up for. You got the giant mess of a expansion level NFL team with very little cap space for the 4-5 guys that need 20 million per type contracts. There will be no texans like turn-around here.

This needs to be repeated everyday as a reminder to those that think this team is a few players away from taking the nfcs. It also should be posted in big bold letters on every executive's office wall in BOA.

When you look at our drafts over the past decade or so, it's no wonder why we're so bad.

2017 was our last good draft. Moton, Samuel, CMC and Butker. We’ve had Burns, Brown and DJ as good picks since the 2018 draft. We’ve gotten other starters but replaceable/meh ones that likely wouldn’t start on good teams.

Including the last good draft, 3 of those 7 are still Panthers and one is a FA unless we tag him.

The 2018-2023 drafts are littered with terrible picks. It’s honestly amazing how bad we’ve drafted the past 6 drafts. Even 2016 with Bradberry, Butler and Worley seems decent in comparison to drafts where we picked a heck of a lot higher than 30th. If you look at pick locations, the 2016 draft slots are about what we have in 2024. Only difference is we traded away #1 overall instead of going to the Super Bowl.

We have to turn around the drafts. No amount of FAs will turn us into a good team. Having multiple good drafts is the only way. We have to hit on not just starters, but above average starters compared to other NFL teams.

    • I feel like anyone within the Panthers fanbase no matter where they land on Bryce should agree on this. He's a good kid. He's intelligent. But ultimately is he going to ever be the guy to command a locker room? Obviously none of us can say. But I just don't get any alpha vibes from him whatsoever. Is that a dealbreaker? Not necessarily. Here's the thing though. We had the talk of his generational years ahead of his age leadership trait clubbed over our heads for weeks nonstop before the draft. But after seeing someone like Sam Darnold navigate life as a starting QB I think anyone here should be able to acknowledge homerism there are some similarities to Darnold in terms of personality. That is not what we were sold. All of this takes me back to before the draft. I just can't shake the sense that Stroud just rubbed Tepper or someone the wrong way. Was he too confident? Not subservient enough? Did they feel Bryce was more marketable and media savvy? My gut says these things weighed more into the pick than they should have. If not. Stroud more than likely would have been the selection. What's done is done though. I'm just like you though. I want to see some fire from Bryce at some point this season. But I'm expecting to be disappointed considering his first order of business following one of the worst rookie seasons ever was to detach completely and do nothing. As always. Hoping for the best. I feel like I have to put a disclaimer at the end of this post for the Bryce superfans. I want to see him do well. I don't want this to end in the worst case scenario. There now we can be friends!
    • I felt the Cam vibes on the huddle with Bryce, in fact its almost there. Threads that have no mention of young, turn in them.  Only deal is Cam had tons more supporters/nut huggers.  I honestly hated talking Cam with 90% of the huddle, in many eyes he was perfectly accurate with all his throws and if he had a legit great game the true haters were missing in action.   Cam board is now a Bryce board...
