So after all this FA shopping the Bears still have nobody for Cutler to throw the ball to and nobody on the offensive line...

Good news, I think Peppers can take the Bears from 7-9 to 8-8. That's what he did for us while our QB tried to set an interception record.

Bears FO/fans are looking at the positives only and completely writing off his negatives. He is a player that has played half-a**ed his entire career here. So they expect a player that has played half-a**ed, after signing a contract that has him set for the rest of his career, to all of a sudden blow up on a much less talented team? He always gets his stats (10+ sacks) but what he has always lacked was constient pressure, which is the whole reason the Bears signed him to get pressure on the QB.

I have never hated Pep. In fact I have had a life sized fat head of him on my wall and it has never came down. But I, along with most everyone on here, had already realized how much the money Peppers was getting was hurting this team. He is not worth close to what the Bears gave him and you will see that in the coming years.

And BTW on the steroids issue. I have met quite a few NFL prospects (from my days in college) and quite a few were on them during the off-season. I knew a punter who put on almost 25 lbs in one off-season (why he needed to being a damn good punter anyway IDK). I think in all major sports it just one of those things that happen. Besides I was listening on the radio the other day and they were commenting how boring baseball was getting now that they were enforcing the policy more. It doesn't bother me that they do it.

I wish there is a way that we could pick up John P paul to take Peppers place. That Guy is going to be a Pepper number two and maybe better. He just need to get a little stronger and he going to be one touch DE. I bet he will be one of them DE that will rush good and take balls out of the air. And most likely take them for TDS. The team that takes him is going to get one of the top 5 player in this years draft if not number 1. I agree he is not there yet but give him a year or two in the pros. Pepper going to wish he was half the player that kids going to became if he stays in good health.

John H something is the QB that I think going to be a good 7th round pick if he get pick that going to Be the QB That going to make one He!! of a QB in the PRO's that no one is looking at. He come from Miss ole with a good QB rate with reciever that no one heard of. He needs to put on some weight but other then that I think he has alot of passion and heart. Also I don't think we should get rid of john Fox. Who are we going to replace him with that will do a better job? Before you get rid of a coach you need to have a better replacement. Now I done think we need to replace the OF coach or play caller. They should have called alot more screens with a QB like jake maybe he would have got hurt alot sooner and we would have went to the Play offs and maybe the SB.

one thing is for sure... I will be watching the Bears this year to keep tabs on Pep... results are the only thing that matters and I'm very interested to see if his play tells the story about how unhappy he was as a Panther or if the Bears picked up a guy we know all too well...

I will say, he was a beast this past year.. the only neg on him was the around the time he broke his hand, which could go either way on what his drop off was for a few games...

    • Knowns: top 10 o line 2 proven, quality RBs 2 proven, WRs who get open and catch everything. 2 others who show a lot of ‘potential’ A QB who improved greatly in the last few games of the season, topped off by putting up a 40 burger win in OT in this franchise’s kryptonite house. What will transpire this season is yet to be seen.  defense has far less proven. 2  very good CBs, a stud DT (coming off a major injury) and the rest is, again, ‘potential.’ A DC that is essentially starting the season on the hot seat.  This is not 2003, but it could be good. 2003 was the most stacked roster from top to bottom that this team has ever had. This squad finished on a big upswing, yes, but we’ll see.  I think it all comes down to how spiked your hopium is. The running game is where it is for the team. This is not a defense that will win 3 points games. Just not. To win, this team will have to dominate TOP and come up with 2+ more 3rd down stops each game. Again, do-able and should be good for at least a 7 point differential in our favor, ‘hopefully.’  I will say that it is nice seeing talent that actually belongs in the NFL on our roster.
    • Say what you want, but last year Bryce gave Carolina the best QB-play we've seen a very long time. A very long time. Often with rookies at WR and TE, and a RB not known for his receiving abilities. There is much reason for optimism with added weapons, and consistency/ chemistry on the offensive line and coaching staff. Now if the defense can get to average instead of a heaping lump of dog doo, this team should win a lot more games. This season is a turn the corner season. Next season is the year to press the accelerator to the floor.
    • I hope after last preseason our 1st team offense sees at least a few more snaps.
