thoughts on the cuts...so far

according to http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2010/03/06/1293084/fox-on-contract-limbo-not-going.html , by cutting Kemo, Lewis, Diggs, and Johnson, we saved about $12 million(enough to pay Delhomme). So they have no excuse of why they aren't going after FA's even though it is just the second day of Free agency. So they have about $20 million(from not franchising peppers) or however much to spend on improving this team.

Extensions for Williams, Beason & Kalil please. Then, during the season, if T. Davis is back to his old self and Moore continues to impress, extensions for them also. If Jeff King can be extended on the cheap, do him too.

There not going to spend a dime on the FA, they would rather build the team from the draft, which we have done pretty good in doing over the past few years.

with all the holes we have.We have to get some FA

but the only thing I do not like.Is Brayton leaving

One reason a lot of teams that aren't desperate won't be jumping into the free agent market is the 2011 season. No one knows if there will be play that year and why throw guaranteed money at some hired gun on a year with no games.

Also, who knows if there will be a salary cap if there is going to be play in 2011. I'd be very cautious or we could end up in salary cap hell in 2012.

Leave it to the Chicagos, St. Louises and Detroits of the league to go apesh*t and set themselves up for more headaches for a shot at one year of respectability.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
