I think that you may be on to summen. I admitt that I was a little against using our 1st rnd pick last year on a guy that was only used on situational downs but now I think about it he's our 1st rnd pick with a year of experience and tutelage under his belt. I'm liking the move better now. As for Goodson, yeah I agree that he should be used in the slot more or on screens. I just don't know if I trust his ball control yet.

goodsons a rookie he will get better at ball control over time.. it wouldn't surprise me to see him as our #3 WR next year... no more RB's time to spread the skill around

Sutton > Goodson

Goodson is a more lethal talent though. I don't buy the fumblitis label you guys always give him, every rookie RB get's mild case fumbles and Goodson really wasn't that bad at ball control, one of his fumbles was bullshit anyway. He could be serious weapon just like several other guys on the team, we just have to use him.

    • DJ Johnson just ticked too many boxes on the warning list. Unpolished/raw at his position, older guy, etc.  Project players don't belong in the top 3 rounds, IMO. Not on teams completely bereft of talent. The Ravens, 49ers, etc of the world can get away with that. It's hard to justify that in the condition our roster usuallu is.
    • Trust me, I wasn't either. Just seemed like another TMJ, Mingo, etc. Well.....turns out it was.
    • Upper tier backups have good options available.  Also, hitching your bandwagon to a career backup isn't likely to pan out.  Mills is a possibility, but that would have to be a trade. He is under contract through 2026. Same with Lock, under contract through 2026.
