We might as well start making predictions for next season

I consider a vet 30+ (just because this is the age most positions are considered old or on the back 9 on average and teams tend to let them go). Believe what you want but I know these moves aren't coming from Fox/Hurney and if there not in control it means we are witnessing a lame duck FO. And that pretty much means we have 0 chance of winning a SB most likely we wont even make the playoffs.

Who did we lose that's going to hurt our talent and chemsitry so much?

I dont' see any negative loss we have that can't be fixed this offseason besides Peppers.

For all the doom and gloom, I actually went back and looked at the games when hoover was out. Willams/Stewart(whoever was the starter), actually averaged over 100+ yards in each of those games. I think hoov was great, but also was getting old and had a bad back. It's better to do this a year early than a year late imo.

Ahh a voice of reason thank god!

In and of themselves individually, none of them, but when you add cutting or not resigning this many players of such importance (both on the field and off) its going to have immense ripples. I will wait to pass judegment until the season starts, who knows maybe in the draft or FA they do something to restore my faith, but I won't hold my breath.

So? We were a losing team that won meaningless games late to finish 8-8 and we've only subtracted players. How can you possibly think we're taking a step forward for next season?

Now all of money-grubbing moves by Little Cat may help in the long run, but it sure won't for next season. No receivers, nobody to block for Double Trouble, no return guys, Connor penciled in as a starter as poorly as he played last season....it's not looking good right now.

The Panthers lost at least 3 to 4 games due to Jakes HORRIBLE play alone. The Panthers have a better record last season if they just had average play from the QB position. Thats how.

You aren't waiting to pass judgement; you already have.

Pretty much. I think this move was stupid and it did show pretty much convinced me that this FO was a lame duck. I mean what was the reasoning. I mean is JR so cheap he can't pay a intregal part of our running game vet min for 1 season.

But I can't say with certainty they won't do something to change my mind in the next couple of months. And to think I was actually excited about the offseason so far. This move and cutting Diggs were just ones I can't understand or defend.

Hoover was over thirty at a brutal position. Hoover played only 11 games with a injury. And it the games he did miss double trouble still tore it up.

Once again he was only making 890k a year. And there is no cap. If by TC he comes in and doesn't look 100% then you cut him. Why now? It can't be the money (look how much JR is already up). It can't be the CBA (he was in the last year of his deal). I just can't see the reasoning.

He was old and they felt they had someone to replace him. It's that simple, man. I like Hoover too, but they decided he was not crucial and freed up space, especially considering they feel they can have a temporary FB in Sutton if Tony goes down.

I just think the age # next to all these guys getting cut is getting way to much weight.

I don't think it was smart to cut him, but I understand their reasoning. Most of my reasoning is based on emotions and also, I don't know as much about the team as they do. I'm sure they know a lot more about their FB position than I do. So, they felt that he was not needed and would take up space (I assume) and that it was better to cut him before he went totally downhill (back).
