Brandon Marshall. Any way he could work in Carolina?

Guys. Say it with me. The Panthers simply are NOT going to spend alot of money the next two years. The sooner you accept it, the better your food will taste.

Spending vs having a good team are two different issues.

You can get value and be competitive. It might be tougher to do but it can be done.

Moore would look like Montana with him and Smith, and the two RBs.

Certainly worth a 1st round pick.

JR is not going to let Marty Hurney spend any legit money or bring in any legit players. Cheap and young.

Marshall is exactly what this team needs to go to the promised land. A young big threat opposite Smitty, a qb that loves the deep ball, a 2 headed monster out of the backfield and an offensive line with a few years of chemistry under their ginormous belts. It makes too much sense, but as has been stated, we are shopping at Goodwill and Walmart not Rodeo Drive. A few years ago or possibly in a few years, yes we would make this move. 2010-11....negative.

The penis - Megan Fox reference is spot on and funny as hell.

I agree. Clearly, the Panthers moves show they are securing a superior 2011+ salary cap position. What surprises me is that more NFL teams are not following our lead. Seems to me, that the uncapped year would inspire all teams to spend lots to either begin or end contracts with a clean slate.

On spending: We did pick up Wallace Wright on a bargain contract, and he should be an impact player on special teams. So, Fox/Hurney/Richardson aren't averse to spending outright.

As the draft approaches, some polarizing decisions are going to get made by other teams which will flood the market with last-minute free agents who will be desperate to make a deal to save their career....especially if you consider the risk that, at least on paper, 2011 could be a lockout?

I suspect that free agency is going to get interesting for us in April.

    • Been here since middle school right when it started around 2003 after the charlotte.com one. Living outside of Carolina it was tough to find good Panthers content, news or analysis. And no one to talk to about it. This place gave me a lot though I don’t often post. In the later days, I particularly Loved PhillyB’s write ups. They were fire. Too bad I go let it go. I appreciate the hell out of @MHS831 @TheSpecialJuan @Jackie Lee and others who have been posting great content and keeping this place worth coming back to. Particularly during the offseason. Appreciate y’all!
    • Nice explanation, but I was just messing with you. Thought that would be obvious. I dont have the energy to keep on trolling. Last season I compared our situation with Bryce as a potential Alex Smith, but what we should be looking for is our version of Mahomes. Some people will read that as one sentence, to me that single sentence is equivalent to a half A4 explanationf of the teams pathway forward.
    • I dont know how much of his salary would come across and how much a trade would cost but I feel Kmet would be the sort of TE Canales and Morgan would like
