Deangelo Williams... next......

Okay so why not continue this issue. What would Deangelo bring in terms of a draft pick? I think it could easily get us a first rounder back. Any thoughts? I could possibly see this happening since he has only one year left and Stewart ran like a train in the last three games and Sutton impressed everyone. For the record, I hate this idea, but I am just throwing it out for good conversation.

If they cut number 34 I'm not going to be a happy fan. I still dont agree with cutting hover and moose but I can see why but Dwill is the best player we have

I am thinking that D. Will isn't even the best back we have, but that's just me. I know I am in the minority, but I lead the silent, but sizable minority.

Needless to say, they are both great backs in my opinion.

Thye only thing selling tickets right now is Williams and Stewart. You may be nuts.

If Hoover was still around, I might agree. However, I think with him gone, 34 and 28 will take more of a beating, therefore making it necessary to keep the both of them. If we were to trade him, he merits a high first rounder that we could desperately use. DE wield be my first need to fill.

What? His contract is up after this season... What are we gonna do, re-sign and then trade?

lol...

Panthers are known for cutting ties with really good players for absolutely no compensation and in some cases overcompensation for not so great ones. Seems like a totally viable option for this FO. And like the above posted, there is always the franchise tag.

Will Dwill be a RFA?

    • this     I never cease to be amazed at the number of people who will run up their blood pressure to get to the grocery store 30 seconds faster or are racing to get to work like it won’t be there at 8:02.   The only thing I’ve ever done that I think added more years to my life besides quitting smoking, was to learn to go with the flow behind the wheel.
    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
