We better hope our pass rush is up to speed

I have a sneaking suspicion that Fox and Trgo will come up with a little something that they haven't seen yet. They already gave our opponents something to think about when they had Peppers coming from every angle in the Saints game.

Of course, they were probably just trying to cover up our weakness at DT, since both of our starters were out, but that doesn't mean they won't do it when Kemo and D-Lew come back either.

That was not a resurgent running game. Atlanta was not focused on stopping it at all.

They will not run for 40 yds against us.

I'm with you.

We shouldn't worry about James being able to get 70 yards on 16 carries as much as the Cardinals should be worried about DeAngelo getting 120 yards on 15 carries :P

Agree that pass rush is a key, though. We saw towards the end of the season Peppers moving around more, playing both sides of the line. They'll have some stunts trying to get Peppers 1 on 1.

I don't recall the Falcons getting anywhere near Warner. Their O-Line did a great job. The home crowd may have had something to do with that, pumping them up and all, but our front four isn't any better than Atlanta's. Hopefully OUR crowd will pump our guys up and we'll see them play lights out. But to be fair, I wouldn't expect anything outrageous or anything more than what we've seen all year.

Fox dose seem to turn it up in the Playoffs and some of the conservitve play goes out the door. Warner has one of the quickest releases I have seen so its gonna be about coverage just as much as pass rush. Losing Bolden is big though.

    • Sellers is absolutely one to keep an eye on. Could be the next Cam or could be the next Anthony Richardson. Curious to see how he has progressed come this fall.
    • I think Texas could go 0-12 and he would still go #1 based on his name and traits like you say.  But nusselman and sellers may be actually better qbs.    Man if bryce stinks it up this season its looking like a damn good year to swap out qbs.  Sellers highlights are just fuging jaw dropping
    • I mean, the kid comes from a wealthy family. It's not like he needs the money. He has a ton of potential now we get to see what he can do as a starter. Everyone penciling him in as the #1 overall pick is putting the cart way before the horse. It's 5% because of his talent and what he's showing on the field and 95% because his last name is Manning. And if he is what he's hyped to be the Texas coaching staff needs to be answering some tough questions about why the kid wasn't on the field sooner. Ewers was a good college QB but he's definitely not a "keep a future #1 overall pick waiting" type of college QB. Only getting one season out of a top NFL talent because you chose to keep him buried behind a borderline NFL talent is just coaching negligence. Not starting him as a true freshman? Yeah, I get that. But on year two if the kids is what he's hyped to be you gotta wish Ewers well elsewhere and turn the page.
