Carolina Panthers coach John Fox 'not freaked out' by lack of deal

(By Charles Chandler, [email protected]) Carolina Panthers coach John Fox said for the first time Wednesday that being in the final year of his contract heading into the 2010 season is not an ideal situation.p/It's got its ups as well as its downs, he said Wednesday at the close of a one-hour media breakfast with NFC coaches. It probably wouldn't be my preference, but I'm not freaked out about it.

I'm agnostic but I'll pray to whoever as many times as it takes against Teebow coming to NC...But why are you guys so mad? I have sat in many home panther games where someone on the field asks 60,000 people to pray with them more than once. As an agnostic I see it as some weird ritualistic thing humans do, like Indians dancing around the fire to please their gods...just weird and uncomfortable. It would be nice if people were more private with their beliefs.

I think you're in the wrong thread. ;)

When you've never had back to back winning seasons and haven't won a playoff game in 4 years then you don't deserve a contract extension.

Why the Bengals are talking about an extension with Marvin Lewis, whom has a total of 2 winning seasons in 7 years is beyond me.

Turner's new deal, which followed the Chargers' 13-4 season, is through 2013 and kept him from being in the final year of his contract.

Turner said being a coach who's perceived to be in a "lame duck situation" had the potential to be problematic.

"What happens is, I'm not sure it's as big a deal to your players, but in this multi-media age, it becomes a talking point on a regular basis, usually after a tough loss," said Turner.

What a dumbass statement, if you have a head coach not able to overcome that adversity, why would you want him?
