I said this yesterday but wanted to bring it back. Is anyone worried about Kuzy?  The guy is at the bottom of the list in plus minus every game. I’m starting to feel he just isn’t good at hockey anymore.  Also, KK playing is like nails on a chalkboard.   We just aren’t a good team when he plays. Do we call up Suzuki?

No. He’s already been called up as a black ace, we aren’t going to Suzuki because we lost one flipping game. KK is playing better than you think, just because he missed a goal doesn’t mean he’s bad. Kuz on the other hand, has some issue and I don’t know what it is. He’s not playing crisp, he’s either trying too hard or not enough. I’m not sure you can say he’s at the bottom of +/- every game because he’s not in the playoffs.

KK is not the issue here. He's played well.

There is reason he was benched this year. He hasn’t been playing well at all. Maybe…maybe a game this playoffs. The groups fascination with KK is wild. He isn’t good.  If he was that good he would have been benched for Kuzy when we traded for him.

I mean seriously, if we benched players for missing an empty net once a game we wouldn’t have a roster to start. KK isn’t great this year but he’s been serviceable, hopefully he’s just having a Necas slump, but I’m not too sure he hasn’t hit his ceiling here unfortunately though. Moral of the story though, KK is what we got. We aren’t throwing a perennial AHL player into the playoffs without a practice since like training camp. It’s far more likely we put Comtios in and move Drury to center a line in a HYPOTHETICAL situation.

I strongly disagree with this maybe if you are just watching points sure, but he had provided a ton of physicality and has played well defensively.....

He is an incrediblely streaky player scoring wise.... your neglecting to mention he also earned his spot back from Kuzy and Drury (Kuzy has his own issues but he adds a ton to the PP he single handily won game 1 for us)

I think rod needs to Reunite SAT and try Guentzel-KK-Jarvis if that doesn't work I'd seriously consider trying something I think he should have already and try JARVIS AT 2C his game is all about right down the middle and he is a natural C.

I agree we got here with what we have..... KK has played better than point totals he's added needed physicality and defense....

Check my other post for more on that.

This is kinda what I meant telling people to chill the other day lmfao. One road road double ot loss and people are saying crazyniess.

We don’t need svech on 1 right now, unless they start gooning again.

I’d go Guenz-Aho-TT Svech-KK-Necas

I stand by more original lines, dropping Necas to 4… but.

    • Interestingly I think we have kind of of gone through this as an organization. Richardson implemented an FO driven tank. Bad roster, no cash spent, coach uninterested. It may have been for different reasons but I think the results were the same. A team that wasn't going to win many if any games. We ended up with the #1 pick. Cam Newton came in and changed the franchise. It worked, but Cam himself pointed to the losing culture in the locker room needing to be changed. It probably took about 2-3 years for that to happen. Tank worked pretty damn well for us. Cam is one of one. Not another like him, everyone can't deliver on his draft status AND change a culture basically on his own.  So as an exercise here are the last 30 #1 picks. If you tanked and got to pick #1 how many of these guys do you think were worth it? Not just good players, but franchise changers. Guys who will take your culture and shift it so the tank was actually worth it. I would say maybe 9 or 10 guys would be worth a tank, pending the last 5 picks?    2025: Cam Ward (Miami (FL)) - Tennessee Titans 2024: Caleb Williams (USC) – Chicago Bears 2023: Bryce Young (Alabama) – Carolina Panthers 2022: Travon Walker (Georgia) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2021: Trevor Lawrence (Clemson) – Jacksonville Jaguars 2020: Joe Burrow (LSU) – Cincinnati Bengals 2019: Kyler Murray (Oklahoma) – Arizona Cardinals 2018: Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) – Cleveland Browns 2017: Myles Garrett (Texas A&M) – Cleveland Browns 2016: Jared Goff (California) – Los Angeles Rams 2015: Jameis Winston (Florida State) – Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2014: Jadeveon Clowney (South Carolina) – Houston Texans 2013: Eric Fisher (Central Michigan) – Kansas City Chiefs 2012: Andrew Luck (Stanford) – Indianapolis Colts 2011: Cam Newton (Auburn) – Carolina Panthers 2010: Sam Bradford (Oklahoma) – St. Louis Rams 2009: Matthew Stafford (Georgia) – Detroit Lions 2008: Jake Long (Michigan) – Miami Dolphins 2007: JaMarcus Russell (LSU) – Oakland Raiders 2006: Mario Williams (North Carolina State) – Houston Texans 2005: Alex Smith (Utah) – San Francisco 49ers 2004: Eli Manning (Mississippi) – San Diego Chargers 2003: Carson Palmer (USC) – Cincinnati Bengals 2002: David Carr (Fresno State) – Houston Texans 2001: Michael Vick (Virginia Tech) – Atlanta Falcons 2000: Courtney Brown (Penn State) – Cleveland Browns 1999: Tim Couch (Kentucky) – Cleveland Browns 1998: Peyton Manning (Tennessee) – Indianapolis Colts 1997: Orlando Pace (Ohio State) – St. Louis Rams 1996: Keyshawn Johnson (USC) – New York Jets 1995: Ki-Jana Carter (Penn State) – Cincinnati Bengals
