I would love to see us make a play for Brandon Ingram somehow with our pick (+ Miles?). You could slide BM to the 2 and Ingram to the 3 and slide them both down in smaller lineups.

He's from NC.

But he also wants a lot of money. I'm not paying him the max which is what he would want.

Don’t like Brandon here…why?

He is talented but never really changes any games and isn’t a guy I would label hard working.  He is extremely average.

Miles Bridges is much better.  Which naturally means we will trade him away for peanuts

Right now seems like the rumors are tying us to Knecht and Castle, possibly even with a trade up for Castle. Two very very different prospects with two huge question marks. I guess you could argue they both are elite at something and that is at least something to consider. I really like Knecht as a scorer but then our defense at both guard spots would be horrendous.

For the record, I am buying stock into Cody Williams.

I'll take Knecht - i'm completely out on Castle, 5th in points and  5th rebounds on his Uconn starting 5 and 2nd in turnovers.

Knecht has an NBA frame and an NBA skillset - you can find rangy hustle defenders at any point in the draft/UDFA. Very few players come into the league scoring at all 3 levels like knecht. I also like his ability to finish at the rim/elevate.

But yeah... on ball defense is awful.

Ill worry about us losing in the finals once we get there. However I totally agree about the concern.

Personally I think asking your superstar player to defend is important for any winning team, and that starts with Lamelo. Knecht or no knecht, Lamelo needs to step up on that side of the ball.

Man I hope they don't trade up - what for?  Horrible draft this year.  Just take the best available and wait till next year.

I tend to agree…appears they want Sheppard based on what I heard on the Hornets Lock On podcast, although they also mentioned they might want Castle as the Spurs appear to like him.

If the Hawks were to draft Clingan (rumors they might just do that) we could have Sarr or Ricarcher fall to us.  Damn would be nice.

    • Great season regardless of what happens. From starting out 4-14 to ending 44-38 is incredible progress and future is bright from here. I do think we can beat the Heat and then win on the road against either Orlando or Philly assuming Embiid doesn’t miraculously return sooner. But if not, a higher draft pick is nice too
    • I know a DT that's asking for a trade: 🤔 maybe a home discount can be worked out. Dan Morgan could create up to $80 million in space through restructures of stars like Derrick Brown, Jaycee Horn, or Taylor Moton. They could also include players like Tershawn Wharton ($18.6M cap hit) in the trade to balance the salaries. Carolina Receives: DT  Dexter Lawrence II New York Receives: 2026 2nd Round Pick (No. 51 Overall): A premium Day 2 selection that fits the for  Lawrence  after his 0.5-sack season in 2025. WR  Xavier Legette : A young, high-upside receiver who provides the playmaking depth HC John Harbaugh needs for his offense. 2026 4th Round Pick: Immediate mid-round value. 2027 4th Round Pick (via MIN): Future capital acquired in the  Adam Thielen  trade.  ----- Stone Forsythe* (another young player as a potential trade option)provides immediate offensive line retooling for HC John Harbaugh.    John Harbaugh's history in Baltimore proves he values draft volume over individual superstars.    Just my 2cents
    • Moved to Tuesday, not Wednes because of scheduling with Flyers game or something in Philly. But I don't feel good about the Heat.  It has been a great season regardless.  Team just been playing so hard to move up since a bad start and just picked a bad time to get gassed.  It's like almost everyone is shooting cold at the same time even wide open shots.   Maybe atmosphere and playoffs kick off a spark.  I'd rather be in a series than a one and done though. The team has a good foundation to build on regardless of what happens.
