Pathers courting CFL QB Buck Peirce

Buck Pierce is a wanted man.

The free agent quarterback is currently being sought by the NFL's Jacksonville Jaguars, Carolina Panthers and Detroit Lions.

Oh, but that's not all.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are expected to make him an offer within the next 48 hours, a Hamilton Tiger-Cats scout is evaluating him today in Vancouver, and the Montreal Alouettes have also expressed interest.

BC Lions coach Wally Buono called Pierce on Wednesday night to wish him well.

Pierce, 28, was released by the Lions back in March after five seasons with the team.

He had 692 completions for 8,734 passing yards and threw for 48 touchdowns in his career with B.C., adding 1,015 rushing yards and nine touchdowns himself.

The Lions were the only professional team that the California native had ever played for, but that's about to change. It's just a question of where he'll end up.

If he's so good, why did they release him?

The CFL is a strange kind of league. there are only 7 teams and probably 12 QB's that could be starters. We basically get all the NFL drop outs so its a good league to develop them (Jeff Jarcia, Marren Moon, Doug Flutie, Joe Theismen) So we have an over abundence of QB's which is why some good ones get dropped for no reason.

The salary cap is only 6-8 million dollars per team too. Decent QBs take 300-500k of it. You can't afford to give up cap room for 2.

    • You honestly think Tampa would have traded down with a division rival so their rival could land a “generational player” at a massive position of need for TB?   bruh
    • Ya'll better quit throwing shots at Zod. He'll come in here and ban everybody. I had a friend @prosource who was banned in 2015 because he said some very minor things about Zod being an ass to the posters on the main forum after starting the All-Pro one. He said he felt like another level is cool, but don't punch down on people that don't want All-Pro. (He did say that it wasn't going to last long anyways.🤔) I distinctly remember him calling and being like "dude, I got banned, my profile says I don't have access to the Huddle!") I feel like once Tepper came in and cut off all unofficial access to the team, Zod was going to be around less. The All-Pro board had really good photos, even in game stuff, and I remember seeing him behind a little fenced in area at Wofford for non team sanctioned press/photographers after Tepper bought the team. I knew then his ego wouldn't allow him to continue with past fervency and effort with that reduction in access. Dude was literally in the locker room when JR was owner.  I came over in 2011 immediately after finding out this place existed. I was super involved with the Charlotte forum, and fell off after its demise. I will never forget arguing Pep over Ryan Sims on that forum! Who is Ryan Sims some of you may ask? My answer is exactly!
    • And not see him running free. Because has been free a lot more than he gets credit for.    Now what XL does with that when he does see the ball, is on him.
