I like Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses). Good album. And just a few songs from their earlier albums.

you passed the \m/ test

They fell off the planet for me after Iowa... That Vol. 3 crap was garbage, and they pretty much developed into the same trendy band followed by mallrats around the world that they preached against when they first came out...

This last album was better than Vol. 3, but still not all that great...

I prefer my metal to take talented musicians... not gimmicky stuff that tends to run it's course...

Corey will always be one of my favorite hard style vocalists... and Joey Jordison is one of the best drummers ever... but I can't really say too much about the other guys... Mick and Jim are okay, but I lean more towards technical guitarists...

I've met Jim and took my picture with him way back in the day... back when they still tried to hide their faces... He was a super cool dude, and I wish nothing but the best for Slipknot (not like they haven't dominated the late teen circuit already)...

Really? I found Vol. 3 to be really good. It was fairly melodic with awesome riffs, the singing was really good, and the drumming was amazing. And it was mixed pretty well. Their other albums didn't even compare IMO. They sounded messy and all over the place.

And yes, I agree. Dream Theater ftw. Though their last two albums I didn't care too much for.

Iowa was their peak for me... very well produced album, and originality still in the songs...

Vol 3. didn't even have any cursing in it, and was catered to the emo kids that were gravitating towards their fanbase...

It was a smart thing from a business/marketing standpoint, but nothing will ever top songs like People = poo, Heretic Anthem, or even stuff like (sic) off the original album...

The original album was produced in a way that made it sound raw and chaotic... If I am not mistaken, it was Ross Robinson who produced that one, and he has some good stuff under his belt...

Yes, the fat ugly kids... if I remember Fred Durst's statement correctly..

This guy

From wikipedia

After Durst referred to Slipknot's fans as "fat ugly kids", Shawn Crahan, one of Slipknot's percussionists, threatened violence against him if he criticized their fans again, and Slipknot lead singer Corey Taylor later said in an interview with MuchMusic that he saw Durst as a great businessman, but not as an artist. In a 2001 post on Limp Bizkit's website, Durst disputed the perceived ill will against Slipknot. He was quoted as writing, "We really like Slipknot and are very happy that they hate us, because it makes their music heavier, angrier and real!"[12] This quote angered Chris Fehn, one of Slipknot's other percussionists. Fehn later described Durst as being "...scared of us [slipknot]"

I agree. Vol.3 had a few respectable tracks, but too commercialized for what they did with Iowa.

    • Nah, what he did in Cleveland was damn impressive.     ain’t no way in hell we (it’s my alma mater) should’ve looked like this tonight.  That was piss poor coaching and piss poor playing.  Like they said, for both teams, this was a similar setting to when TCU played Colorado when Deion was hired.  TCU coming in to play a game against a super famous football celebrity figure with a completely overhauled roster - difference is, Colorado played up to the moment.  We just folded like a cheap lawn chair.  I was joking during the game with friends, like they really watched a whole summer of Gio and Max and decided Gio was the starter?  Hell, I bet Bryce Baker as a freshman is better than Gio.  We hyped that signing of Gio like we just won the fuging lottery, and he is complete ass.  We spent two quarters desperately not trying to throw the football - I don’t know if it’s because he can’t or what?  But there was no excuse for that.  It felt so much like the Rhule years here.  I haven’t seen such a dysfunctional offense since or before.  And then the damn defense…. I asked my friend if they just brought all 70 new guys in from a lab that does arm and leg transplants because did these guys just receive their limbs and are figuring out how to use them???  Because I have never seen a whole team look so inept.  Diving early at feet and missing them entirely, getting trucked, flailing and falling everywhere, peewee league arm tackles, always looking a step slow…  no lie, whatever the worse I could’ve imagined that debut going, take that and make it 10 times worse and I never would’ve even seen THAT happening.  Absolutely no excuse for it.  None.  All the brand power and image brought with the Belichick hire, and that’s the best he could do in his debut.  They brought MJ, LT, and Roy out for THAT???  Man, I spent 7 years of my life living there and i NEVER saw or heard of LT coming out there during that time.  They actually got him coming around to watch THAT. Bill should be fuging embarrassed.  The fuging commentary booth brought a dog in and put a headset in him as Rece Davis said, “the wheels are off, ladies and gentlemen.”  As I said elsewhere - not under Mack 1.0, not under Torbush, not under Butch, not under Fedora,  and not under Mack 2.0, did we EVER look like THAT.  Never.  You bring in a guy that is considered one of the greatest football minds in coaching EVER, and we get shellacked and don’t even look competitive???  Boy I know the boosters are shitting fuging fireballs right now.

    • Bryce Young still hasn’t shown he can open a season on the right foot. While he’s proven he can close strong, my expectations for these early weeks remain low until he demonstrates otherwise. He does get a relatively soft matchup against the Jaguars, so hopefully he shows signs of putting the early-season struggles behind him, but I’m not overly optimistic just yet. Doesn't help he barely had any preseason reps. We'll see.
