Panthers searching for another wide receiver to help Steve Smith

Going to be a lot of pissed of fans when they finially realize marshall is not coming here.

I thought that was blatantly obvious but I think I am the one that threw gasoline on the fire. While personally I would do it, the Panthers/JR wont.

I agree, and good idea about his contract. If Hurney and Co. wanted him they would put together something protective and agreeable for both sides. I'd give 2 2nd rounders to have Marshall and Smitty on the field together. Smith, Marshall, Williams, Stewart, thats got potential of epic proportions.

While I would probably shat myself with excitement over that, every limpdick little bastard that plays Madden online would start using the Panthers. And that would be teh suck.

so your not against Marshall coming here.. you just don't think it will happen so fug it.. sound about right?

if so, I hear ya.. why get your hopes up..

Let me shed some light on why I will be irritated when Marshall doesn't come to Carolina...

We have drafted ONE WR that has been a high success... ONE. So... yes, I will be irritated when yet ANOTHER WR hasn't even been talked with and we are still hoping to pick up a decent WR in the draft for the rest of Fox's tenure..

I feel that is a VERY reasonable response to our FO who has left our offense one dimensional for years... and will continue to be for years...

am I wrong for being upset?

as for ways to make this BM thing work and not just saying "oh well, fug it"... I think Rayzor brought up a reasonable approach..

marshall could fit into that situation pretty well. find out if he is worth the hassle. if he is than work to keep him around/happy. put the right structure around him like shanny was able to do to keep both marshall and cutler focused (which was pretty much the opposite of what that piss ant mckid did).

i know he'll probably be looking for a high $$ contract but if you could arrange something like what the bears did with peppers deal where you have an out after the first year if he doesn't produce then it would/could be a good thing.

Who cares how it works out.. my point is that there are ways to make it work.... Instead of just throwing your hands up in the air and hoping to win the lottery, at least make an attempt and see what you can work out. Die trying or go home.. Expecting the draft to pull out a WR is a joke... I hope it happens and I hope I eat crow, but that isn't the logical choice...

i wouldn't be pissed. it's a 50/50 split whether he explodes or implodes on whatever team and whoever picks him is taking on a HUGE risk. i don't know who has contacted the broncos about him but i can certainly understand everyone's hesitancy to go and get him. many teams could use him and if he is as good as everyone says...there should have been a long line to get him and he should have been moved quickly. everyone knows that the broncos aren't thrilled with the idea of keeping him around and that punk kid they call a coach sure isn't capable of handling him.

it is the questions surrounding him that has everyone holding back. as much good as he could do, he could just as well suck and take the team down with him. i'm almost thinking i would rather him be someone else's problem child.

I dont think so. We usually don't make moves like this in FA, so it shouldn't be anything new to a lot of people. It's not like we were front runners in a bid to get him and another team swooped in and signed him.
