I am looking forward to the draft. This will be the first year in several that I have not been camping and had to get news from charitable folks who texted me which I could receive the transmission if I hiked to the top of the mountain.

What am I excited for? Just got back from the pinewood derby and my son got second place. Only took me 2 kids and 9 tries to finally get it right!!!

The draft. I have a few buddies that put money on the top ten. Whoever is closest wins the pot. Kinda fun, and by the time the Panthers are actually on the clock I should be a little drunk :D

I thought of that the other day. Have everybody make a Round 1 draft board and make some kind of point system so that the person who is "closest" will win.

Much more excited for the draft as a whole. I won't even be watching day 1 though.

The Draft. I'm one of those people who watches the whole thing. (Plus it gives me the chance to BBQ! This year's menu is pulled pork, grilled pineapple & peppers, corn, ABTs, potato skins, maple bread, and beer.)

Now thats a draft party.

I have been looking forward to the Draft since mid November so definitely the draft.

This time of year is like a 'hump' day for NFL fans....the schedule release/draft weekend....halfway between the Super Bowl and pre-season.

Personally for me it's the schedule release...I don't have the luxury of having every weekend off so I take one of my vacations and break it down to individual days off....this allows me to be at every home game.

    • Yeah, I was about to say I hope he's doing okay health-wise because he's not looking good in that pic.
    • Honestly, I dont  think he should be on the hot seat yet. A bad start to next year, then yes. Despite our mistakes on play calling this past season, we played better than anticipated overall. Bryce showed improvement and maturity (although still not nowhere close to our expectations). Better record and 2-15 to 5-12 to 8-9. Despite what we feel the stats dont lie we are improving by 3 wins a year. Could 11-6 be our expectation. That's a high bar but at the rate we are going, thats what its looking like. We all want to see a 5-12 to a 13-4 record but we are methodically moving up. Success doesnt happen overnight (well in most cases).  IMO we are struggling mostly on the defensive end. LB and edge are our biggest weakness. I see Bryce making improvements (even though I was a Bryce hater) next year. Biggest concern is LT on offense. How to fix this? We need a big name edge or to trade up and get a big name edge or LB and pick up one in FA and draft one. Also if in the 3rd we can pick up a TE. Dont know if Sanders is the answer or Tremble (even though I love Trembles blocking and power after the catch). If these two can get their footwork together they would be great. Maybe all they need is a better TE coach. And if Brooks can stay healthy and be the back we thought he could be, man that would be great
    • Dumbly blaming the best player on the team for everything.
