Cards fan is Back-- What to Expect This Week

First I just wanted to say I had a good time on this board earlier in the season and had my account not been deleted for some unknown reason I would have posted more prior to this. You guys did a great job this year whoever wins this game will be who I root for to win it all.

Here are some keys to the game IMO and things to look for Saturday:

* Dont be fooled by us stonewalling the Falcon's run game, you will still succeed in that department. Were this game in Arizona we would do better, but it isn't and doubt we do.

* I also doubt we are able to run as well this week as we did last week even though we really didn't run much then. You guys have a good run D and I know Kurt wants to throw on you again.

* The weather is the real variable. Warner sucks in precipitation, plain and simple. If there is anything falling from the sky Saturday evening I am gonna be heartbroken.

* Trick Plays--This is the big thing to expect and success/failure in this area will be the deciding factor in the game IMO. The cards have probably attempted the least of them in the league over the past two years, but last week we opened with a flea-flicker in the second series. Go back to the year Whisenhunt won the SB with the Steelers and you will see they used tons of trickery throughest the playoffs. I expend that trend to continue. Dont be shocked in the least when you see Boldin or Rolle throw a 60yd bomb, as both are former QB and have cannons.

Anyway, I hope to see a hard fought, injury free game on both sides of the ball and may the best (or the reddest :D ) team win.

Your account did not get deleted. The servers were hacked after the Atlanta game and they had to rebuild them. Everyone was wiped out. We all had to re-create our accounts...notice how all say "Member Since Nov 2008".

OK. My bad then. I feel better now.

as far as trick plays go....I wonder if the botched fake fg from the first matchup will keep the Cards from gambling the 2nd time around.

Nope, that just inspired them to fire the sissy armed punter and bring in a new one (who punted 5X's inside the 20 last week).

Good to see some of Card fans that came here eariler back again. This is going to be more fun than the first time, since this will be a Playoffs game & you never know what the result will be. Here to a great game & no injuries on both teams. :cheers2:

Yeah, I had a blast here earlier in the year. This is BY FAR my favorite non-Card board.

    • We agree here dawg. I'd love for Bryce to succeed as would all huddlers. I have not seen a single huddler hate Bryce for anything other than his play on the field / potential / skillset. He hasn't gotten any of the irrational hate having nothing to do with football that Cam got. And yeah I understood going into this season with Bryce again as there weren't a ton of options, but man we missed the fuging mark on upgrading at backup QB with someone who could actually push Bryce. Bryce had zero pressure on him with a 100% washed up Dalton being the only other NFL caliber QB in the system. That absolutely needs to change this offseason. Ideally with an actual starter upgrade but that seems extremely unlikely due to not having many FA options and a bad draft. But at the very least with someone like you mentioned, young/upside and/or day 3 pick in the draft.   Another note, we have a top paid and top performing OL, great young talent at WR incl. likely OROY, great RB group, average all around TE group, offensive coach with creativity in the system and good play designs (poor situational playcalling but still I put out current offensive coaching staff over Shula who held Cam back for instance). Not the absolute best situation for a QB to be in, but still a very good situation around him. And yet we have a bottom 8 offense (6th lowest points scored). Imagine taking a victory lap for a QB leading his team to the 6th lowest points scored in the league and the 22nd highest passer rating (despite being asked to do less than many other QBs; i.e. Bo Nix who isn't great either and has a slightly lower passer rating but Sean Payton actually lets him try to throw the ball deep and has him throw significantly more than Bryce). Crazy
    • similar to Atlanta and the NHL.  Atlanta has lost two NHL teams (and lost a minor leaguer).  Now there's another coalition pulling together another proposal for Atlanta to get an NHL expansion. While I'd like hockey to be back in Atlanta 'cause hockey is fun, I am skeptical that it'll happen based on previous teams' experience here alternatively: similar to Atlanta hosting a Major Tennis Tournament in advance of the US Open every mid/late summer.  Aside from the fact that Atlanta is said to be the country's largest Tennis playing city (with both USTA and ALTA, along with a number of side leagues) - playing tennis outdoors in Atlanta summer is miserable *and* they had difficulty attracting players... ticket sales were not good. So the Atlanta Open closed after 14 years.  They just couldn't make it happen, even if for all intents it appears to be massive tennis interest in the surrounding area.
    • So I saw where Luke was doing that show parallel to the game. Whatever it was, statcast something something, knew it would be a good watch. I don’t get ESPN any more but that would be one of the about few things I would watch outside of games.     He doesn’t fool around on the radio broadcast.
