Panthers Fourth Round Pick #124 Eric Norwood OLB

I can see him being used like Thomas Davis was his first year, in a kind of Joker role.

As long as we dont line him up as a safety like we did Davis his first year. The guy reminds me of Davis for some reason. He is basically the same size. he ran a 4.67 and Davis ran a 4.65. The problem seems to be coverage which with our great linebacker coaches can be fixed if the kid is willing to learn. Anyone know what position we have him for? WLB or SLB?

There is no way he is fast as davis. Not even close. Dan Connor ran a faster 40 than Beason. 40 times aren't really solid especially when they are from 2005.

He would be horrible on the weakside especially in meek's system. He wants speedy guys who run around blocks, not beefy dudes that bust through blocks.

He'll be a strong side LB and pass rush specialist. I can see him lining up on the outside shoulder of offensive tackles in certain situations.

I really hope they ask him to bulk up and play DE. I think he would be awesome in Meeks D at DE but only average at SLB. We still need to bring in a few SLB prospects IMO. I would look into it but why bother. No one we speculate about almost every becomes a Panther.

If he comes to camp at 250, look for him to traded to a 3-4 team. Same with Pike.

He was a fallback pick after Nawlins moved right in front of us to draft DT Al Woods.

I like the pick however. Same with Pike. Both could be chips for picks next year.

I can tell you with 100% certainty, we did not target Cam Thomas or Al Woods.. or any other DT in this draft.
