Panthers pick Norwood, South Carolina defender

All I know is that every time I watched South Carolina play, Norwood had big impact on the game, especially when it came to rushing the QB. I think this was a great pick.

So I assume you watch every play of Edds then or are you judging him based on highlights and stats? Sure Edds has next to no pass rushing ability but at SLB who cares how much did Diggs blitz again. I like Edds more because of how good in coverage he is. Which is Norwoods biggest weakness.

I'm going too say this again. Edds good player but norwood is better game flim after game flim he made play after play for a team that was the worst in the Best league in college football. SEC always have the best players year in year out. Norwwood 1st team All SEC in the best League in college football. Always played against the best players and held his own. You can't dispute this he played aginst NFL talent week after week and held USC in alot of games they shouldn't have been blown out in. He was the capt. of this D that had too keep UF The Golden Calf of Bristol from blowing them out and they did.

This was a great value pick. Norwood is an absolute stud and now we have a guy who will start on special teams, can lay the wood and will push anderson and connor for a starting spot opposite davis. Norwood is durable, plays with passion and is a great pass rusher in certain schemes. I am now looking for O-Line and D-Line depth with our remaining 6 picks. Also, I wouldn't mind adding another WR, TE or KR/PR specialist. No guarantees Armanti or Dexter will be our go to return guy. Get some more young competition at WR please.

ok, we are not the worst team in the sec. when was the last time we finished with the worst record? what about vanderbilt or mississippi state or kentucky or arkansas or auburn? even old miss we could be better than. usc is a middle of the road sec team that comes close to beating, or once in a while beats, the top tier teams of the conference.

I only saw a few games he played this year, as I usually don't watch a ton of SEC football, but the more I read and see on this guy, the more excited I am. Sounds like a terrific fit with our existing linebackers. Seems like a very hard worker; someone that will gain respect from beason, davis, connor (all serious workhorses).

I'm a Gamecock fan too and I love having another Gamecock on the team but I don't think that he's going to have the coverage skills to take over the SLB position. I think he's eventually going to be moved back to DE. He has experience there and shouldn't have any trouble adding the weight for it.

Lovin' this! Eric is a beast on his knuckles OR on his feet. I was really hopin' they would pick him or Geathers, more so Norwood since he was so damn productive on the SC Defense. He has some things to learn with technique but if he's already playing at a high level, it's only gonna get better. Good job FO! Whoot!

Norwood played both DE and LB in college. There really isn't much conversion involved other than body size, he's got knowledge and experience at both.
