Moving up to get Armanti Edwards?

The same board that was clambering for us to use our second on Pat White last year is now angry that we used a second on a player that's better than Pat White.

The same board where a few days ago I got blasted because I did not want the team to trade future draft picks because I was informed multiple times that.....

Draft picks don't matter next year because the draft class is weak!! Everybody declared this year and we also have the CBA agreement to worry about...

I hope none of those people are the angry one's on this board about giving up a #2 for him. :D

Athleticism/playmaking ability/quickness/shiftiness/open-field elusiveness translates to all positions. Randle El and Cribbs made it look easy. Brad Smith has been great. Edelman looked good this year.

I think Edwards is more talented and explosive than all those guys. He will be worth it.

Why does everyone believe this kid is going to be the next Randel El or Cribbs, ima laugh if/when he becomes a bust and everyone is whining about giving up that 2nd whenever we coulda got a better player next year.

might as well believe in something positive happening with the kid, instead of trying to hope you can laugh at a pick we missed in the 2nd(which if we want someone we will try and get them anyway)..

teams were looking at him hard for a 4th round pick..sure we gave up a 2 at this very moment, but wheeling and dealing during the draft to get more picks is always on the agenda during our drafts.

Thank God we made it through with a 1st next season, it was near unbearable for me to watch Thursday night.

    • Unless this team plans on overpaying for Rasheed Walker who in my mind is the only long-term starting LT option in free agency then bringing back Yosh is a must.  We have no depth at the tackle spots and with Ickey's and Brady's injuries plus Moton's chronic knee troubles we need to bring it at least 3 tackles in this offseason.  Bring back Yosh plus another vet OT and take 1 in the draft. Let Yosh, another vet, and our highly drafted rookie battle it out for the starting LT job in camp and let the best man win.  Ickey struggled early on his rookie year so having a vet option or 2 on the roster to turn to would be wise.  I'd also like us to bring back Corbett at center as he'll likely come back for the vet minimum, and I wouldn't be shocked if Cade Mayes got a really expensive deal on the open market. Some team that loses out on Tyler Linderbaum is going to overpay Cade Mayes.
    • I'd offer him a decent salary on a 3 year deal that's front loaded, or a 1 year deal that's higher $$ wise because he's likely more important to us than anyone else this coming year.  Doesn't keep us from drafting an OT either way IMO, and we cover our asses in FA and see where the draft/Ickey's rehab lands.
    • Yep. BUT, even if Canales does become stagnant, I'd argue he did his job...of turning this back into a decent job instead of one only a WR coach would take.  Obviously the owner and front office may play more of a role in that aspect, but we're back to showing potential coaches we're not a total clown show.
