Fox isn't going anywhere

We should expect to see Fox here for a few more years. I think this draft may be an indication of a less conservative, more aggressive movement by the coaching staff.

A duck ain't a swan no matter how bad you want it to be. Fox will always play Foxball....conservative and not to lose for the most part.

The biggest issue with fox has always been his overconfidence in Delhomme. that is what hurt him last year, and I think he may have finally fixed his "issues" as a HC. he brought in a couple of good young QB's to compete and worked at getting them some receivers to throw to.

The Edwards pick alone is a clear indication of the contrary.

The Edwards pick doesn't outweigh what Fox has been every year he has been in Carolina. Fox isn't going to be less conservative......Fox isn't going to be a "new" coach this year. Same old Fox.

Now u trying to put words in my mouth. But we'll see, I am not suggesting we won't be a run first team still. I am suggesting that our coaching staff will pick up some of the growing trends in the NFL.

You don't let a coach, especially a coach with Fox's record, enter the last year of their contract if you're hell bent on keeping them around. It's embarrassing/insulting to the coach, it's harder on the players and it generates a ton of distracting chatter in the media.

Even if we have a change of heart mid season, who's to say Fox wants to come back after this?

In normal circumstances, yes but with a lockout coming up Fox could just know its simply business. No one really in their last year, including coaches are going to be signed long term before the lockout, especially for the Panthers who appear to running in the lockout is for sure mode. Fox is a great coach.

If we tell Fox "Hey, just wait around to 2012, we'll try to work something out then!" he's going to laugh and sign a multi-year contract somewhere else, lockout or no.

I want a new coach, but I don't kid myself. Fox would get hired somewhere else FAST.

    • The coaches can't figure out what to do with BY9 much less Leggette
    • There is a lot of talk about his IQ and his commitment to the game and this and that and no one can firmly say one way or another unless they are with him day to day. Not to mention the standards don't jive with the presented reasoning for defending Bryce Young’s rookie season and subsequent beginning of his sophomore season and third season to where we are now 40+ games as he is finally beginning to string together better QB play. When I think of Legette present day I think back to Ted Ginn being a pretty significant bust with the Dolphins as a 9th overall pick and then coming to Carolina (twice) and still struggling with the same mental errors on the field and Cam Newton going back to him again and again and again and even going to a Super Bowl with him as the #1 WR. Deactivating him is weak. Figure something out to his strengths for the rest of the season and reassess in the offseason.
    • I think the season has been a success.  I try to look back at what I said would be a successful season before week 1 and we have reached that.  The success though has you wanting more haha.  But we've had improvements and are right there fighting.  Bryce has improved which was a big thing we needed.  Hope we improves more obviously.  But I agree with others about Evero, unless we have an offense putting up 30 points a game I don't like this type of defense he has.  No pressure either.  The biggest issues I see with this team are, zero pressure on the QB, soft zones, and the horrible special teams play on kickoffs/return coverage.  So I wouldn't mind replacing Evero if someone better is available and definitely get someone new running special teams.  When you combine Evero's defense and the fact we allow teams such good field position often it's a bad match.  Overall, we have won 8 games which is crazy.
