i doubt he's disappointed. we got 2 more qbs to choose from and 3 wrs. even if he is disappointed about the particular players, he would never say it. what's he gonna do, say he hates lafell or clausen? can't and shouldn't do it. he'll give the general media line that he thinks they did good in the draft and he's looking forward to working with the players, whether he's happy or not.

are you crazy? high? Why would he be disappointed? Steve Smith should be the happiest guy on Earth right now. The Panthers showed a commiment to improving the passing game by draft 3 receivers, which has never happened under Fox (idk if its happened under anyone else either). Smitty should finally have help.

To be fair to the OP, our first receiver taken has never had a big year in college, and in watching him I've seen him drop very catchable balls. Granted he never had a good QB. Our 2nd receiver taken was actually the quarterback of an FCS school. Our 3rd receiver taken is a guy who has caught for 675 in his best season in a conference where playing corner is typically optional. Has caught only 4 TD passes in all his 4 years at school.

Now I'm not saying these guys can't make an impact, but I highly doubt Steve Smith is ecstatic about 2 guys who likely won't see the field for years, and a guy who was sort of good in college.

i mean as far as being productive. you can say that about all of the recievers. point is the panthers made a commitment the passing game more than ever, which is a positive to Smitty, bc its been pretty abysmal. not saying he should be jumping and screaming, but he wouldnt be disappointed. no reason to be.

I agree with you. I'm just being cautiously optimistic in regards to the passing game. I hope the new receivers coach can work his magic on some of these young guys.

    • I thought he was from watching him play and also doing his first HC job. I thought he was the real deal  Apparently what happened is Kraft committed to Mayo and I don’t remember the timeline exactly - but Vrabel was unemployed at the same time Belichick was unemployed. They both were fired (or out) after the 2023 season.  Kraft hired Mayo. Who was kind of an obvious disaster. He probably already had the deal in place but I will give Kraft credit for not sleeping. With Vrabel out there for 2025 he made the move he needed to make and if it hurt Mayo’s feelings then oh well.  I guess you can tell I am not fond of Kraft but that was a really savvy move. At his age, pretty good. Still has it.
    • It’s going to feel like a home game for the bills. There are so many of their fans that live down here now, and many of them have never seen Allen play in person since their last visit was 8 years ago. It didn’t matter for the cowboys game, but it might here. I think we likely lose a close one. Probably a questionable flag or two that doesn’t go our way. X factor for Buffalo will be Kincaid and Knox. If we do win it’s because we get ahead and play keep away from Allen. FYI- I have many friends who are Bills fans that are fed up with Beane who we all revere and think is the one that got away. They feel like he was great to land Josh but has done a terrible job of building around him (especially at WR) and rely on him to become super man to win- sounds kind of familiar, like the last time we had a franchise QB.
    • I always thought of him as an uptight military family dude, didn't know he needs to wash that mouth out with soap lol.
