Vikings QB Situation

They were afraid of upsetting him by using their 1st on a QB. Never before have this many professional franchises been held hostage by one man. My guess is he'll be back for one more year, but the Vikes only have themselves to blame if he doesn't and their forced to play with T. Jackson in 2010.

A lot of Vikings fans tell me that they love Tavaris, and would be comfortable with him as the starter. He played really well in relief a couple years ago, and managed to get them into the playoffs even with AP fumbling like six times in that course of time.

If Favre doesn't come back, then let the Vikes suffer through the 2010 season with Tavaris then dangle Matt Moore in front of them like a piece of meat. Hell he carved 'em a new azzhole last year, he threw for a career-high 299 yards 3 TD's/0 picks, so I know they respect him.

Then we negotiate for Sydney Rice! :reddevil:

The Vikings doing well this season with or without Favre should not surprise anyone. They were 10-6 with Gus Frerotte leading the team before Favre got there and they have only gotten better on both sides of the ball.

I got the feeling during the draft they thought the Vikings wouldn't do well without picking a QB or getting Favre back.

If Moore tears it up next season, it's Clausen I'm putting on the trading block.

You mean if Moore doesn't take a big free agent contract from some other team, which he'd be stupid if he didn't at least listen?

I mean we should lock Moore up. He would have proven himself to be a franchise caliber player. You'd still be taking a big risk with Clausen and letting Moore walk.

Like others have said, having Favre on your team is a liability because you will spend everyone offseason waiting until he makes his decision. If Favre doesn't return, Jackson will start again.

I could see a team making a play for either Moore or Clausen this year, but I don't want to see that trade unless the value is really good. Obviously, one of these guys is eventually going to be traded. If Clausen outplays Moore, Moore will probably be somewhere else next year. If Moore keeps his job, Clausen will probably stay here as backup for awhile until the FO decides what to do.
