Hello All,

I apologize for the delay but here it is Off-season Recap #3.

NFL Draft 2010:

It was definitely surreal watching the draft this year considering that exactly a year ago that was me sitting there in front of the television waiting for my name to be called. As for this year’s draft class, I think that the class was very good for the Panthers because we explored some new options with different types of players. There is more speed on the offense along with fast two dimensional guys on the defense that will also have the skill to assist with special teams. As the veterans helped me, I plan to help the rookies adjust but at the same time hold them accountable on and off the field.

New Defense:

The off-season moves have put a new fuel to the fire on defense as we have many new and young faces. We definitely have the much needed speed in guys that can get the job done. Between now and the first game of the season, we have a lot of work to do to get where we want to be as a defense and as a team, but we are certainly making forward progress. We know that it’s going to take leadership and accountability everyday to make sure everyone is up to par on the defense. Our goal is…to be a quick and undeniably dominant defense!

Well that’s all for now, stay tuned for the next blog recapping Leaving College Early: Pros and Cons!

Signing Off,

Everette

Actually my 4th grader can write better than that. Is anyone waiting around for the next installment when all he delivers are trite statements, unimaginative comments and no insight at all. At least tell a funny story, discuss the locker room over the minicamp or give readers something of substance. HOw exactly are you going to change the schemes to get more pressure this year? How much muscle have you put on in off-season workouts.

BORING...................

His blog is a free service. He is only doing it to please us, the fans.

Perhaps we should just shut up with ignorant and negative remarks like the quotation above, and just relish the fact that Everette takes time to write this?

As players go, it is written better than the vast majority of players that do blogs. Makes me wonder if it is really him. Stereotyping and all... I know. It is what it is

PS - That is a badass avatar. Don't change it!

BS. He is not doing it as a free service he is doing it to self promote himself and his activities. If he wants to make it relevant than make it interesting by asking the fans what we want to hear about instead of assuming we are waiting to lap up any crap he spins. It isn't like I went on his blog and told him I hated it, I just commented here. For that matter why not take your own advice and shut the hell up and stop trying to tell me what to do or say on this message board.

No one is asking for the playbook just to make it something personal or of interest that I can't read in an interview or someplace else like Panthers.com. And yes I am awesome, thank you for noticing.:cheers2:

    • Andy Dalton is a nice guy... But we aren't running a charity here. It's about damn time! Here's a VERY fun thread to revisit.
    • I really enjoyed it. Well put together recap of the season that showed the emotion of the ups and downs this season. Brought back a lot of painful and joyful memories. This was a strange season to say the least. I threw in the towel at least 2 maybe 3 times this year. Yet I was still relatively proud of the team and the fans by season ending. Hoping we can continue to build on this!
    • To be honest, I didn't read or hear of any decent goalies who may have been available. Sure, there was an article suggesting Florida may offer Bob, but look what happened- they're actually talking about a new contract for the UFA net-minder.  On the other hand, here's how someone else categorized the crickets chirping from the Canes: https://www.thescore.com/nhl/news/3481704/winners-and-losers-from-2026-nhl-trade-deadline The Hurricanes were in excellent position to make a splash but did nothing other than add some toughness to their fourth line in Nicolas Deslauriers. That's awfully disappointing for the Eastern Conference club, which entered the deadline with four first-round picks over the next three years, a strong farm system, and more cap space than any other contender. While Carolina doesn't have any glaring holes, upgrading the second-line center spot should've been a priority. Can it win a Cup with 5-foot-8 sophomore Logan Stankoven in that role? He's likely better suited to play wing. Adding a goalie would've helped, too, given Brandon Bussi's inexperience and Frederik Andersen's struggles. A depth defenseman wouldn't have hurt either. The Hurricanes have a pretty straightforward path to another Eastern Conference Final, considering how weak the rest of the Metropolitan Division is. But nobody should be surprised if they're once again outmatched by whoever emerges from the superior Atlantic Division, in part because of the inaction by GM Eric Tulsky. --------------------------------------- Exactly what a few of the astute regulars on this board have hypothesized, I might add. And if a handful of fans can see this.... well....
