Rank the Panther teams

1. 2003...Not as good as 1996 or 2008, but they won when it counted. If you ranked the top 10 Panther victories, five would come from this season.

2. 1996...This team was average and maybe even below average offensively, but that defense was bad ass. Greene, Mills, Lathon...I think this defense was better than 02 or 03.

3. 2008...This was probably the most feared Panthers team ever. No one wanted any part of Double Trouble, but we all know how it ended. A QB with the yips and an OC determined to win with him throwing, inexplicably.

4. 2005...One can only wonder what would have happened if this team had won the division. Instead it had to win three playoff games in cold weather, and predictably injuries did it in at Seattle.

5. 1999...Looking at the offensive stats...how did they not make the playoffs? Well, an ole defense and a few Seifert brainfarts did them in.

6. 2009...Three games in, it looked like not just the team, but the entire organization was imploding ala Texas Stadium. The opener was almost as crushing as the playoff loss that ended the season before, but this group was one of the top teams in the League at the end.

7. 2007...The Year of Vinny.

8. 2006...The Year of Keyshawn.

9. 1995...Best expansion team ever.

10. 2004...No team had ever even made the playoffs after a 2-6 start. The Panthers came this close to doing it after 1-7.

11. 1997...Back to reality after premature success.

12. 2002...Despite awesome defense, team lost eight straight.

13. 2000...Pretty forgettable. Beuerlein got beat up, setting up the end of the Seifert era.

14. 1998...The end of the Capers era.

15. 2001...Fifteen straight losses. Nuff said.

    • I would say that seems like an odd comment from Morgan, but at the same time it's almost impossible to find a college QB declaring for the draft to have less physical ability than BY so you can assume almost anyone you bring in would be your go to QB sneak/designed run guy.
    • Gronk is the best TE of all time, but he also played with Brady. Clarke was great, but had Peyton and in an era TE's didn't make crazy money. Kittle is great, but the two times he's made the SB, he was still on his rookie contract for one, and the other the 49ers had Purdy on a cheap rookie deal which help them build the rest of the roster. So again, it's not about not wanting an elite TE, of course it would be nice.  But realistically, in today's NFL, unless that elite TE with a top end TE salary is on a team with a GOAT level QB and/or other serious cap savings (i.e. key players on rookie deals), then I think it's not a good use of cap space.
    • This place was the poo pre tepper with tons of hilarious posters like phillyB. Joined in the 2000s during the 07 season and have been here bitching about this team since. but yeah its sadly been dying a slow death, every time I come to this site I am surprised its still up. I think the 2015 season was the absolute peak, the Panthers and this board especially just haven't "felt" the same since then. Igo should really sell the board since he clearly doesn't care anymore. Also, Reddit blows and the Bryce defenders on there need Jesus.
