5 years ago I went to the doctor for heart palpitations and that's when I was diagnosed with Graves Disease. Heart palpitations is one of the symptoms but so is having explosive diarrhea 15 times a day, so if your not having explosive diarrhea then you're probably safe.

That was sad, funny and TMI all at once.

Anybody get them? If so what caused them?

I've had them on an occasional basis for a while, but in the last week they have gotten much more frequent.

I've heard they often have benign causes, especially in young, relatively fit people like me.

It's getting to the point where I'm going to need to see the doctor. Am I about to die?

A lot of times in the younger population it is known as Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation and symptomatic treatment can be managed... You should go though to your doctor for a work up / EKG

I'm sorry I missed this post yesterday Jase.

It sounds an awful lot like PVCs, which I have had all my life and was recently forced by the wife to have evaluated by a Cardiologist just a few months ago.

I think I might have even posted about it, since this place has sort of become my therapists couch over the years.

They ran me on a treadmill and tested to see if the frequency and duration dropped, also the doc checked the echo for any valve or wall thickening or irregularities.

As expected, I'm a-ok.

They can be disturbing, particularily at night when they become more noticeable while lying still, and all things are creepier in the dark.

Mostly you should stay very well hydrated, as they become more intense and frequent with dehydration. Getting up early to piss allows me to get my workout in every AM too.

If you want, get it checked out, tickers are nothing to mess with, but given your age, weight, and assuming no family hx of congenital disease.....I'm sure you're ok.

Really it could be a # of things.

Are you on any diuretics? If, so your electrolytes could be out of whack. Potassium can cause dysrythmias by being to low or to high. Norm is around 3.5-5.

Are you or have you been taking any weight loss or energy supplements? I know back in the mid-late 90's when ephedra was in Hydroxycut, Rippedfuel, etc... they caused me to have palpitations, so I stopped those. I think ephedra is banned now though but some of the new ones with high doses of caffiene, Ma Hung, etc...can cause the same "feeling".

Do you feel any numbness, dizziness, headaches, tension? If so it could be serious and I'd go get checked out.

Start taking a log of when "it" happens, how long it lasts, and if your having any unusual feelings with your body. Check your pulse rate. Check your carotid pulse vs some more distal pulses in your wrist and feet.

    • I would tend to agree about not falling into the trap and paying a below average QB, but sometimes situations can “force” a team to pay that QB. For example, if we play ourselves into a 9-8 like record, then what options will we have in the draft? Or do we avoid the draft and trade for or sign someone in free agency?  I’m not convinced by the 2026 QB draft class. There’s some intriguing prospects but no one that really screams “draft me”. I’m not sure we’ve got anyone really that stands out as a trade candidate or free agent signing. So although we might not want to commit a big money contract to Young, him playing well and showing progress might force the team’s hand.
    • Realistically we would be looking at no more than a mid round pick for Dowdle or Chuba. Are we really that desperate for a mid round pick? Not really. I would much prefer us utilise the two RBs in a 1-2 punch similar to how we used D-Will and Stewart. After all, Bryce is not Drew Brees. He won’t throw for 300+ yards and carry the team consistently as a passer. So having a strong running game with a 1-2 punch will be beneficial to him, and it will also be beneficial to the RBs because we can spell them and not overwork them.
    • The Jets and Bill's are statistically worse
