Steve smith breaks arm!!!!!!!

OK, earlier I asked why there was no local coverage of this. If Smitty was hosting a football camp for kids, wouldn't some reporters be there?

On the other hand, he didn't know it was broken (or cracked), because he didn't go to the hospital til Sunday night.

12 weeks till opener. Smith will be learning the drills under non-contact. Aint no thing.
Ok for one why the *** would you let one of your most valueable LBs who just came off a ACL tear about 7 months ago and go out and do cuts and backpedal and risk injury. Upon that why would they not put a knee brace on him to prevent the injury from happening a second time. That is dumb to me. Then steve smith goes out and plays a flag football game after not to long ago coming off a broke arm. I ain't saying he should not have a life outside of football. But whe you are this close to training camp. Why are you going to go out and risk getting reinjuried again for a flag football game. Nowing that something could happen. It doesn't make no since why he would go out and risk his season over something dumb as that. :dupe: Point blank both of these injuries could of been avoided. But they do poo to prevent it. How dumb is this.

Inmy opinion,we'll be fine. Smithy should be out of the cast in 4-5 weeks and will be able to play in the 3rd preseason game, and will be full speed and more than ready to help us baptize the new Giants stadium the same way we closed the old one.

We're fine at WR on the other side too. I will believe in Brandon LaFell and Armanti Edwards, until they show on the field that I shouldn't.

I still have small hopes for Jarrett, although I admit I have more faith in Kenneth Moore than Jarrett at this point.

Why does everyone on this forum think knee braces are so effective? Knee braces do almost nothing to prevent ligament tears. Against the force required to tear muscles and ligaments, a little bit of foam and velcro is almost useless. Braces are mainly to help stabilize, they can't "prevent the injury from happening a second time."

    • Dude, I think I might be having Jarvy withdrawals... I ripped the sleeves off of all of my t-shirts in my sleep last night. Every bite of my Alpha-Bita cereal spelled Seth, this morning. And, I took 7 naps before lunch. I'm losing it guys! Jarvy's Jaunty Band of Jaggoffs are getting more play than he is... smh Team Canada doesn't treasure Jarvis the way he deserves. He should take his band down to Liechtenstein, get a bag of passports, and start his own Olympic team! The raw animal magnetism of Jarvilicious will bring in a handful of NHLers on its own. And, since the IOC believes in collective punishment, he could have his pick of the rookies. Then, just fill out the rest of the roster with the maple blooded great white northerners who couldn't make the top squad. Can't trust this assembled awesomery to just any old Liechtensteinien with a clipboard and a whistle. Gotta bring in a legend worthy of this gold medal gambit. A hockey HOFer with the balls to buck the system and the aura to match our maverick. Huere geil, Vaduz!!! 2030 Gold Medal guaranteed!
    • Tennessee isn't trading a QB on a 2nd round contract that has starting experience.  That's bad business.
    • OT is the top priority as it is both an immediate and future need.  I wouldn't be past trading up slightly to get the guy we want.  You need that rookie contract right now.  Icky is a dead 17.5 million for the season.  Morton is 20+ mil for the season, Hunt is 20+ mil for the season.  There needs to be forward thinking regarding the future.   Caleb Lomu is a left Tackle, he's a solid prospect, he may be the best pick for us now and in the future.  I would seriously consider cutting Hunt after 2026, and let Lomu and Icky fight for the LT job, loser moves inside.  Icky's future may be at guard after this injury anyway.  If Damien Lewis keeps up his level of play he will need to be paid sooner rather than later.  Yosh and BC can be our top two depth OL at an affordable price.  You will need to look at OT again in 2027. Getting an EDGE for the sake of getting an EDGE outside of the top 10 is pretty risky.  I wouldn't be against eyeing someone like Cashius Howell, Derrick Moore, or TJ Parker in the 2nd (even if we trade a future pick to move up) or DDS in the third. I'd love to see us try to sign both Leo Chenal and Matt Millano in FA.   Chenal for the blitzing element we are missing from our LB corps and Millano for his elite coverage.  They could both work in tandem.  Remember, our FO has deep ties to both KC and Buffalo. I love thinking about the draft, but until Free Agency hits, we are clueless.  Looking at the strength of FA and the draft, OL is priority #1, LB #2, and EDGE #3.  We know what happens to Bryce when protection falls apart.
