i just did mine last week. two guard on the side and five on top. it took her a couple days to come around, but the wife likes it now more than the way i usually wear it.

its the heat! i was working on putting floors in my house. going in and out cutting boards. covered in sweat. i stopped what i was doin one of those days that we got to 97, and went to cuttin the hair. it feels great!!

One guard all-over is where its at. Short, cool, and you don't have to do anything but wash it.

1/4th inch is a #2, I use a #1 and get it down to 1/8th of an inch.

I think that is what I use too... it is the shortest one, whatever it is... lol... I am just used to overestimating measurements, apparently...

the shortest you can do, besides straight razor, is no guard. that's what i did for a while back in my early 20's. 1/16"

those look fine. i went cheap though on some $20 kit a walmart, and they work fine for what i'm doing. had them over a year now, and they show no signs of age or wear.

if you are worried about the looks with the ladies you should try to fade it some. that's what i've done, and the wife was in disbelief at first. now though she likes running her hands all over it.

I use no guard. In the last few weeks I've started shaving it to the skin with a razor. I sort of like it.
