Tough loss last night. Orlov was especially bad again. Burns wasn’t great. Martnook had some bad turnovers.  I think at the end of the day, this team just isn’t that good.  Again, would not shock me to see the canes miss the playoffs all together. They are essentially a .500 team since thanksgiving.  Somehow figure out a way to win tonight.

Even if we go .500 the rest of the way, the Sens or Bruins would have to win 16 of their 20 or so remains games to catch us.

If those 2 continue their .500 records, we only need to win 6 of 22 to clinch the last WC slot.

I would be extremely shocked if we missed the playoffs.

      I don’t know about floor in a team defense sense but we needed more.  The floor that I am familiar with is our QBs floor and it is so low that every other part of the team needs to be beefed up.     We tried our best to improve these things and I think we did improve the defense and we at least kept the offense  from sinking from no LT.  And ostensibly helped the receivers too.   So we kept a window open that we at least have a chance to improve our record by a game of two.  Which would probably give us the division.

      Yeah. I am one of. those who think a JAG RB can eat with really good blocking. (Brooks is most important in my mind, in tbe passing game and that is what we’ll lose without him)  There are a lot of aspects to this. The big one that caused us to struggle is Young and his arm scared no one.  Best back, best blocking still cannot defeat a really good defense if they are not forced to respect the pass.  And teams did not.    But, a strong OL and running game Can get us over against weaker defenses.  And if Bryce still doesn’t scare anyone we can still win some games. Like last year  So it is really important to tend to that OL.   Get that straight and see if in his fourth year he can finally back defenses off. That is what if is all about this year to me, on the Bryce front.
