...i would rather have moose back personally.

Which I frankly don't see why this didn't happen to begin with.

Moose had 50 catches (give or take) as a #2 reciever in a system where our RB's got the majority of the touches.

Not to mention, he'd be cheap, and the great leadership presence he'd provide on an otherwise young team on the field, in the locker-room, and in the weight room.

We have no proven 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th receiver...

I mean, to me personally, bringing him back seems like a no-brainer.

Oh, lest I forget his incredible run-blocking ability in our -run-first, run second, run third, then maybe throw a pass or two- philosophy based system.

I mean, honestly, I can't find one con to bringing him back.:incazzato:

LaFell will be better than the TO of today

If this kid is the real deal and starts this year and Edwards can make decent contribution out of the slot then our offense will finally get to the next level. If LaFell cant get it done on the outside then we are screwed, as of now he is our only hope.

The whole gist seems to be that as long as Moose is here, it won't give us a chance to develop other guys. They are very high on LaFell and believe he is a faster version of Moose with as good blocking skills.

I understand this, but it still doesn't change the fact that it could very well hurt us in the short term.

I know some believe that all of our moves are long-term, but the players and the majority of the fanbase feel that we are a strong enough team to make a run this season.

Unless FoxCo. is anticipating LaFell to develop quickly...

Truth is you could say that at a number of positions this year. Most of the veterans we let go still had plenty of game left and were as good or in many cases better than the guys wha are replacing them. The big thing the young guys had besides their age were that they were cheap.

Hoover, Moose, and Peppers are the only guys who I think we can't really replace this year, and Moose/Hoover could possibly be replaced this year.

Cheap and...?

This organization has never been afraid to shell out the big bucks to players they thought were worth it.

They offered Pep the largest contract for any defensive player ever.

LMAO!!! Where do they come up with this poo?

I think most anybody looking at our roster, from the outside, sees Owens as a good fit - minus the headaches he brings.

People realize that Smith needs help. The fans want to see the team give some young guys more playing time and a chance to make a name for themselves. If we sign Owens, the whole idea of wanting to get younger goes right out the window.

Sadly for Owens, even when you think he's finally grown up... you come to find he hasn't. I just think he's burned to many bridges in his life and this is the price he's paid.
