Player Personnel: Who must stay/who must go?

It's obvious we have some key pieces to our puzzle in place, but also some very crucial departments that lack talent and depth...who needs to stay and who needs to go to keep the future bright?

Bold - Keep

Red - Keep, but in a supporting role

Defense:

Peppers

Lewis

Kemo

Brayton

Diggs (he'll do for now)

Beason

Davis

Gamble

Lucas

Marshall

Godfrey

Harris

Offense:

Jake (he's staying, but we need to start looking around)

DWill

Stewart

Hoover

Smith

Muhammad

Hackett

Jarrett

King

Rosario

OLINE (best we've had, need to keep this group together)

Key openings:

1. Shutdown corner

2. 3 down pass rushing DT

3. #2 WR

4. New QB (could be #1)

5. DE (Brayton has impressed me though)

STILL LOVE MY PANTHERS!!!

Owen Daniels wouldn't be a bad pick-up...been a while since we've had a legitimate receiving TE

Daniels would be a bad pickup. From a recieving TE stand point we already probably have too much talent that is being wasted. Fox doesn't use a TE in his offense in that role enough to waste a spot like that.

    • I think the qualification has changed over time though. A deep ball play used to take 4 to 6 seconds for the receiver to get to that spot on the field. Now a receiver can be there in 2.5. That's less time than most QBs have to set and throw. In my mind a deep route takes time to develop. A crossing route and a deep route can't take the same amount of time at full speed. You can have 4 deep balls on the same drive,  almost 5 if you do 5 20 yard throws goal line to goal line. That doesn't even make sense when you say it out loud.
    • The sad part is it looks manicured enough that he's aware it's running away from him.  Also, I just wanted to give you some fun loving grief on King Haynes today having a chance to throw a game winning TD, and was wildly errant, and ultimately picked off to end the game.  So happy I won't have to hear anything else about The Golden Calf of Bristol lite ever again watching college football.
    • I just think Panthers believe in Bryce far more than the fans do and he is most likely going to be the QB at least the next two seasons. the real shot of us moving from Bryce is not getting an extension, till then they are going to give him every chance to succeed and I just want to win.
