People, stop blaming the offense, blame the DEFENSE

Well, as almost every other thread has stated, "Jake needs to go, Fox needs to go, Davidson needs to go!!!!"

REally, Turg needs to go. I dont see how you can put ALL the blame on the offense for the meltdown, even though much of it is deserved. When you have a defense that had been lacking ever since our bye week earlier in the season, its really apparent that the defense is the problem. Have you noticed that before the bye we were in the top 5 overall defense? Now i dont even keep up with that stat, because I know we have fallen dramatically.

But that leads me to another question, "How the heck did we end up 12-4?" O yea, i almost forgot, we have the Mr. Comeback on our team (delhomme), and the best RB duo in the league. We all know that Jake to Smith is one of the best, if not the best, connection in the league. Sure the offense didnt do sh*t last night, but please, please dont put ALL the blame on them.

ONE MORE TIME - "FIRE THAT BUM TURG BEFORE I GO COMMANDO ON HIM"

They are just as bad too. However, last night the defense DID make a few stops and the offense just sucked. If the offense could have put some points up or at least ran some time down, the defense wouldn't have had to stay on the field for 80% of the game time. They got tired, simple as that.

Hmmmm....... How many games did the Offense WIN us this season compared to the defense???

BIG DIFFERENCE

as bad as the first half was the defense responded and showed up in the 2nd half. if we had scored on beasons int then its 27-14, then after another stop delhomme throws a pick inside the 20. scoring there would have made it 30-21 with about 13 to go in the 4th. you never know what could have happened but opportunities were certainly there in the 2nd half created by the defense.

Look, before you go all Mr. Super Fan postal on the board, we were talking about THIS game, you know, the one from last night?

This thread was actually talking about more of ppl wanting Jake, Fox, and Davidson to get out of carolina, but yes, last nights game is just as important, lets not get over our heads now, stay cool:cool:

I hate that the offense forgot to cover larry fitzgerald

Delhomme turned the ball over SIX times. Five of them were completely on him. Those turnovers spotted the Cards 23 points. Any time we'd try to get anything going, he'd give the ball back. Several times in the red zone, which is a killer.

We can moan all we want about playcalling and the Defense, but Delhomme broke the teams back before halftime. If you really expect a defense to hold the Cards under 12 points when the offense gives the ball away that many times, I don't know what to tell you.

With that performance, we could have played Detroit last night and gotten thumped by 20.

    • Not exactly sure that is an honest assesment of the talent he had to work with that year. Olsen had over 1100 yards that season making the PB, Stewart had close to 1100 total yards also going to the PB. He had Kalil at C who went to the PB, Trai Turner at RG who also went to the PB, and Michael Oher at LT who played well enough that the Panthers offered him a new contract the following year. I wouldn't call that a trash OL. He also played with a defense that was stacked with talent as well.   "The thing we are doing better this time around is actually surrounding our #1 overall draft pick QB with talent vs. asking him to completely carry the offense. I just hope that effort is leading us to realize that the guy isn't even good enough to get carried." Please.... Did you not read the list of names Newton had to work with his rookie season. I guess you missed it so I will post it again for you... Steve Smith (PB), Greg Olsen (PB), Brandon LaFell, Ted Ginn JR, Deangelo Williams (PB), Jonathan Stewart (PB), Jordan Grossn (PB), Ryan Kalil (PB) on the offensive side and then he had Luke Kuechly (PB), Jon Beason (PB), Thomas Davis (PB), Star Lotulelei, Kawann Short ( PB ),Charles Johnson, Greg Hardy (PB ), Mike Mitchell, Josh Norman (PB)  For comparison, here is who Young had his first year.  Chuba Hubbard, DJ Chark, Jonathan Mingo, Adam Thielen, Hayden Hurst, Ikem Ekwonu, Chandler Zavala, Bradley Bozeman, Nash Jensen and Taylor Morton. Not a single PB player on the list and most of them aren't even playing any longer. Additionally, his HC was fired during the season and the defense was as bad as the offense.  You might not like the comparison but saying Newton had to completely carry the offense isn't exactly fair to the 4 pro bowlers on offense who played with him that year.
    • That's why I say we have to keep looking. Even if you believe Bryce is the guy, KP and Grier are not and who knows if King is anything more than a gimmick player, we should be active in improving our 2nd QB spot. Season ending injuries happen, and you don't just want to roll over and give it up. How many starters have we seen come from the ranks of backup? Having 2 potential starting QBs is one of the best problems we could have.
    • Eh, it’s more on how bad the refs are. Some of these calls against the canes are no calls
