Scouting the Ravens

I hope they lean on the offense and the passing game. I am still one that does not buy all of the hype of Flacco.

He was a QB on a run first offense....with a great defense. His passing numbers were not elite.

I don't think anyone considers him an elite passer. He is a smart QB with a big arm that doesn't make a lot of mistakes. I can't imagine the Ravens ever becoming an air it out offense. Doesn't fit their style. I think they will be really good this year.

Don't those reasons mean production won't be elite? Also Sanchez had the best rushing attack, best defense, and he was 32nd in passing attempts, he played far worse than flacco.

My point exactly.

I am not sure Flacco or Sanchez would be a top tier QB in a heavy passing offense. I don't view Flacco or Sanchez as much better than Matt Moore.

I also think the Ravens Defense will take a step back this year. Ed Reed is injured (might not play), Ray Lewis is another year older, their DB's are really banged up. They will still be good, just starting to get long in the tooth.....much like what happened to the awesome TB defense a few years back.

They are still one of the better teams in the AFC.

I view Sanchez as worse than Moore at this point in time. Last year, Sanchez was only better than Jake Delhomme (and you might could debate that).

I can't imagine what you're going to do with all the free time you've acquired by abbreviating "two", "why", and "what".

You should take a vacation or something!

    • They're sneaky good.  Very good.  And they had the personnel to match perfectly against us.   Seattle played really straight forward cover-2 and cover-3 pretty much all day.  They had some nice simulated pressures in cover-3 that baited us to move more quickly than we needed to.  They just totally cooked us.  It was a full Macdonald checkmate against Canales & the offense.       The recipe: Contain the run game enough (check) and have the LB & secondary athleticism to shut us down in the air (check)      For any team that can match our OL's run blocking, just run a cover 2/cover 3 all-day.  Similar to what the Saints did.  Pepper in some simulated pressures to bait Bryce while you're at it.  Bryce doesn't play the best against zone.  Huge weakness, averages like -.09 EPA/P in his career.  How that actualizes - from my eye test as a silly fan, he just doesn't have the velocity for the shorter/intermediates from in the pocket to the outside to get guys the ball in space vs zone.  His best games (Rams, Falcons) was when they had a blitz we caught, went man, or it was a critical down with a misdirect/PA and he had the space to throw a nice ball, sometimes with anticipation.  23rd rated QB against zone.  24th completion percentage against zone.  42nd against zone ANY/A with a clean pocket.  ANY/A being one of the more consistent correlations to wins you can find out of the EPA stuff you'll see nowadays.  He doesn't even crack the top 32 for eligible QBs.
    • well, I have always said Sam Darnold is Sam Darnold.  Which he always proves to be.  NYJ Sam was at BOA Sunday.   I think Bryce criticism is a one of one.  Because he is unicorn.
    • JT's Stats for the 2025 season. REC: 29 / YARDS: 190/ TD: 1/ Yards per catch: 6.6 The data seems to indicate that JT is not a huge component of our offense. His presence (or lack of it) is not what cost us that game yesterday. Sanders is a big guy but he seems to go down as soon as contact is made. He hasn't produced any "wow moments" in during his 2 years with the team. So far he's proven to be a JAG. I'd rather see Tremble and Evan on the field as our # 1 and #2 TE's.
